Really nice to see us with a 3 game lead in the win column. The league is still a bit of a mess after 1/3 of play. You'd have to expect Lville to climb up the standings a bit, as well as a team like USF fall back a bit.

I think you will start to see the fat rise to the top of the league. IMO, that will be UConn, Marquette and maybe Gtown or WVU.

The game of the week to watch will be on Wednesday when Cinci travels to UConn. I really don't know which result will be better for us. I'm still expecting UConn to battle us for the league title, so another loss on their part would be really beneficial. However, if Cinci beats UConn they will start to separate themselves from the rest of the league, making next Monday night one of the biggest games of the year.

UConn will beat Cincy...basically preordained.
I agree. I think the BE is breaking down this year like this:

Syracuse
.
.
.
UConn
.
.
.
Marquette
.
.
.
everyone else

Ya want cinci to beat uconn, we beat cinci, nd, wvu and we will have minimum two game lead half way through conference ... so hope the bearcats nip the huskies

I hope Cinci beats Uconn because big picture in the BE that will help us. Uconn is seemingly our only legit threat at this point. I think the Cinci game for us coming off a Sat road game will be tough but teams that have been playing well will be shocked by how good we are like Seton hall was. ND, WVU and Cinci need to be ready for us just like we need to be ready for them. WVU's offensive rebounding is somethig that I worry about a bit.

pitt has wv/gtown/UL coming up. they better beat Prov or it could be really ugly..

of course it probably sets up for playing us in the Be tourney.

Pitt is toast already. L'ville will have to run the tables with only 2 wins and 4 losses. Unless Pitt wins the BET they may well be done for post-season play ... well maybe NIT. L'ville still could be on the ouside looking in and solidly on the bubble as well. What a fall for 2 perennial BE powers ... them and Nova

personally I would love to see Pitt get themselve together and knock off GTown, WVU, and L'ville ... and I would agree about wanting to see Cincy knock off UConn. That will really set up next Monday night's game as a really, really big one.

It looks to me like SU then Uconn/Hall/Marq/WVU/Gtown/Cinci will be battling it out most of the season. I see Uconn coming out ahead of the rest of those teams. I want to say Lville will battle back into it but something is seriously wrong with that team. Strange to be 6/7 games in and say Pitt/Nova and Lville are basically out of it already.

WVU plays a lot like Pitt except they have 2 legit big time scorers in Kevin Jones and Truck Bryant. They are dangerous. Fortunately JB seems to do well against Huggie.
If you break the BE into tiers, I think it looks like:

Tier 1 - SU, UConn
Tier 2 - Marquette, WVU
Tier 3 - GTown, Cinci
Tier 4 - Everybody else

If Woodall comes back healthy, Pitt will be much better but they are so far down already they'll never rise above mid pack. But I wouldn't want to play them in the BET.

They said that Woodall has a pass from the Docs to start ... but he says he isn't feeling 100% yet. Expect to see him real soon though and that might result in Pitt giving other teams some real acid stomach
