Looking ahead, I am hopeful that by May 1 the student athletes (as well as the majority of the population) will be vaccinated. So the playoffs will be minimally impacted by Covid protocols.

best guess we'll have 120-130 million fully vaccinated by may 1, with maybe 30-40 million on 1st dose. that's with 250 million adults. we also have somewhere on the order of all ages 120-150 million or take your best guess on some immunity protection. with a decent amount of crossover.
it'll still be around. but hopefully, much fewer and far between.
