SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 25/RV Syracuse University women's basketball will play its final home contest of the 2014-15 regular season when it hosts Atlantic Coast Conference-opponent Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. All youth 12 years old and younger will be admitted free with a paid adult ticket. In addition, the game will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and ESPN3.

In the Orange's last game, Syracuse stormed to an early first-half lead and never looked back in a 73-51 victory against Boston College on Feb. 19. Junior guard Brianna Butler knocked down six 3-point field goals in the first half, one shy of her personal-best. In the process, Butler broke the Syracuse career 3-point field goals record previously held by Julie McBride, who had 229 from 2001-04.

Seniors Tiara Butler and Diamond Henderson will play their final home games of their collegiate careers on Sunday afternoon and will be recognized for their contributions to the program before tipoff. Butler has been a part of two NCAA Tournament teams and Henderson ranks third on the club in scoring in her first season as member of the Orange.

3-Point Threat
If there was any question that junior guard Brianna Butler is a threat from anywhere on the court, her accomplishments in 2014-15 have provided the answer. Currently, the junior guard ranks second on the team and 19th in the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring, averaging 13.2 points per game. She ranks second on the Orange in times leading the team in scoring (10) and double-figure scoring contests (19).

Undeniably, Butler's strength on the court is her 3-point field goal shooting. Butler leads the conference and ranks 17th nationally with 2.89 3-point field goals made per contest. She has knocked down at least four 3-point field goals on eight different occasions during the 2014-15 campaign.

The King of Prussia, Pa. firmly put her name in the Syracuse record books when she emphatically broke the program career 3-point field goals record against Boston College on Feb. 19. She knocked down six 3-point field goals in the first half to overtake Julie McBride for the top spot in school record book. With 231 3-point field goals in her collegiate career, Butler ranks 17th among active career leaders nationally and owns the top mark among juniors in the country.

She has been on a tear as of late, scoring at least 14 points in four straight games, including a streak of at least 19 points in each of her last three games. In that span, Butler made history when she became the 24th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark for her collegiate career. Butler finished with 14 points at Georgia Tech on Feb. 8 to pass the plateau. She currently has scored 1,067 points in her career, which ranks 20th in school history. The junior guard is two points shy of 19th place, which is currently held by Chris Palombi, who scored 1,069 points from 1981-84.

In the team's first-ever trip to historic Cameron Indoor Stadium on Jan. 8, Butler put together her best outing of the year. Butler scored a season-best 23 points on seven 3-point field goals, which matched a career-best. She knocked down three 3-point field goals in the final seven minutes of play at No. 13/12 Duke, including the game-tying 3-point field goal with 52 seconds remaining in regulation.

The junior guard started off conference competition with a bang against No. 4/4 Notre Dame on Jan. 4. Butler led the team with 19 points against the Fighting Irish, the 2013 national runner-up. She currently ranks second on the club in scoring in ACC action, averaging 13.8 points per game against in-conference opposition.

After only managing five and seven points, respectively, in the team's first two outings of the 2014-15 season, Butler scored in double-figures in 10 consecutive games. In that time, she scored more than 15 points on five different occasions. The King of Prussia, Pa. native scored 18 points twice, both coming against two of the nation's top teams, No. 1/2 South Carolina and No. 18/21 Michigan State.

Dominant Defense
It has been tough for the opposition thus far this season to figure out the Syracuse defense. Currently, the team is holding opponents to 59.9 points per game, the sixth-best mark in the league. The Orange held the opposition to under 40 points in three straight games earlier this year. It marked the first time that Syracuse held three consecutive opponents to under 40 points since the 1972-73 season.

The Orange ranks among the best in the country in several team defensive categories. Syracuse ranks first in the Atlantic Coast Conference and sixth in the nation in turnover margin (6.85). The club also leads the conference and ranks 19th in NCAA Division I women's basketball in steals per game (11.2).

Syracuse's press defense was in full effect on Feb. 19 against Boston College. The Orange forced 30 turnovers and collected 17 steals against the Eagles in the Carrier Dome, both of which were the second-best marks by the team in 2014-15. Boston College was limited to 51 points on the night, the second-straight contest Syracuse had held its opponent to that total.

The team put on one of its best defensive performances of the year against Vermont on Dec. 1. Syracuse recorded a season-best 23 steals against the Catamounts. The Orange capitalized off Vermont's 32 turnovers, scoring 40 points off turnovers, as well. It marked the most turnovers by an opposing team since Syracuse forced 32 against Delaware State on Dec. 4, 2010.

Against Penn State on Dec. 4, Syracuse held its opposition to 39 points. It marked the first time in program history that the Orange held a non-conference opponent from one of the Power Five conferences under 40 points. The 39 points scored were the fewest for a Lady Lion team since scoring 39 points in a 71-39 loss at Wisconsin on Feb. 25, 2010.

Syracuse followed up that effort with a 70-25 drubbing of North Carolina Central on Dec. 14. It marked the fewest points scored by an opponent since the Orange scored an 87-17 victory against Delaware State on Dec. 4, 2010.

Series Breakdown
For the 54th time, Syracuse and Pittsburgh will hit the court on Sunday afternoon in the Carrier Dome. The two teams have met every season since the 1979-80 campaign. Syracuse owns a 34-19 advantage in the all-time series and has won the past seven meetings. In addition, the Orange's 34 victories against the Panthers are the most wins it has against any opponent in program history.

In the teams' last meeting, Syracuse scored a 68-60 victory at Pittsburgh on Jan. 22. Junior guard Cornelia Fondren and sophomore center Briana Day each recorded double-doubles against the Panthers on the road exactly one month ago.
