and 6 away games. What would you be happy with?

For me, I would be very happy with 10-1, pretty happy with 9-2, somewhat bothered but still OK with 8-3, a little upset with 7-4, quite upset with 8-5.

Now begins the tough portion of our schedule.

anywhere form 9-2 to 11-0 I'd be happy with. Especially if the two losses were to any of Louisville, UConn, or Cincy. If one of the losses were to Rutgers or South Florida or something like that, I'd be upset.

You make a good point here... It also depends upon who any losses came against.

Man, expectations are high.

I'd be elated with 8-3. When you sit back and think about it at the end of the season will anybody really be disappointed with a 28-3 year? That's a historically great year, and sure to win us the Big East and get us a 1 seed.

General, in a "normal" BE year I would be ecstatic with 28-3. But with the BE as down as it is this year and us as good as we are this year my expectations are extremely high. Probably higher than they should be, but I have a lot of confidence in this team. We have a lot of weapons and a lot of leaders.

I predicted 15-3 in the prediction thread but I usually guess best case senario. So I can't be too upset with 15-3 but wow after watching Cinci and Uconn last night, the way Lville is playing and already being 7-0 is just seems really hard to find 3 losses on our schedule. I know if Uconn gets Boatright back that they will improve a lot before we play them but still the more I watch them the more obvious their weaknesses become. Lamb needs a kick Napier in but and demand the ball, Napier needs to actually run some offense, Drummond is just very very raw, oriahki looks uninterested, Daniels is just not ready, Olander, Giffey and Smith are nice peices to have as role players. Without Boatright I think Lamb and and Napier burn themselves out.

I agree with these numbers. I know the big east is weak this year but I think we get at least 1 or 2 losses. Personally, I don't care much about going undefeated. I'd like to see how this team responds to a loss or at least a last minute nail biter before tournament time.

For me, I would be...quite upset with 8-5.

With 11 games left, 8-5 would be a "major miracle" ;) (I realize you meant 6-5)
In all honesty before the season started if someone told me that we would have a chance to go 8-3 in this portion of the schedule I would be doing the happy dance. Now - I agree with you, it would be acceptable. All depends on expectations vs recent results.

It's not sure to win us the Big East. If Cincy beats WVU and we lose to Cincy, we are tied with them and they hold a win over us. We then need to rely on others to beat them in order to reclaim first even if we go undefeated the rest of the way. After we leave First-Third Arena Cincy's schedule looks a bit easier than ours does

Here are their last 10:

@ Rutgers
vs. Depaul
@ St. Johns
@ Marquette
vs. Providence
vs. Seton Hall
vs. Louisville
@ USF
vs. Marquette
@ Villanova

Assuming they are for real which I think the win last night at UConn requires you to do, our game against them on Monday and their game at WVU on Saturday will be important games for us in the standings. Their 5 wins already include wins at Georgetown, at UConn and against Notre Dame.

Obviously, you can lose a game at any time, but they essentially have 5 games remaining that are what I would call good opportunities to pin a loss on them @WVU; vs. SU; @ Marquette; vs. Louisville; vs. Marquette.

If on the other hand they aren't for real, there are lots of opportunities for them to be tripped up as you can add @ Rutgers and vs. Seton Hall to that list.

While we have wins in hand against opponents that traditionally give us trouble Pitt and Nova, they don't look like teams based on the standings that be difficult opponents this season. Just seems to me that with us still having to play @ Cincy; vs. Gtown and home and away games with both UConn and Louisville this game against Cincy could prove to be really important in the standings.

I am concerned only that we get a 1 seed in the East. I know it will be tough grab especially if Duke or UNC is in top 5. They usually get that reservation.

8 - 3 would be fine with me. 7 - 4 would be a little disappointing, but it wouldn't make me panic.

i have watched cincy play ~5 times. I dont care at all what their record is.

i dont want to KOD anything here... but jeeze. i see a sub 1% chance we lose to them.

It will be a long time until we have a better chance at an undefeated regular season. Now or never IMO.

I am not saying Duke or UNC couldn't get the East #1, but they are not competing for it with us, they want Atlanta not Boston

I would actually be kinda disappointed with 11-0. I want to beat UConn and Louisville by so many points that those wins count as multiple wins. I want 15 wins over the next 11 games.

This must be the same type of math that says a dunk counts for more than two points.

I'm sure they prefer Atlanta, but Kentucky will have a say in that matter.

7-4 might not make you panic, but this board would be on suicide watch if we lose 4 games in the regular season. We got people bitching that we only beat pitt by 8!

KY could always get St Louis -- unless Missouri gets lucky and gets it. Some #1 seed from east of the Mississippi will probably be shipped west to Phoenix because I don't think Baylor will get a #1.

St. Louis (340 miles) is actually closer to Lexington than Atlanta (380 miles) is and it is basically a straight shot west on I64. You may be on to something here.

I can say that i went to the sec fan fest in Atlanta the year the tornado hit (2009 maybe?) and it was 95% uk fans everywhere.
