You were missed, OE.

Here are my thoughts on Big East awards for 2012. Last set, so I will try and do a good job.

BE Offensive Player of the Year

I think Ryan Nassib wins over Teddy Bridgewater in a close vote. These things tend to favor seniors. My personal opinion is that Teddy deserved it more by an eyelash. UL did not have the OL or WRs Nassib had to work with. He is an impressive player.

BE Defensive Player of the Year

RU LB Kaseem Greene is going to win this, but Pitt DT Aaron Donald deserves it. Greene is a very good player but Donald is the one AA on defense in the Big East this season. He has been dominant all season long.

BE Coach of the Year

I think UL HC Charlie Strong is going to get it. IMHO, Doug Marrone deserves it. Getting to a bowl game with the OOC schedule he faced, especially after a 2-4 start, is very impressive.

QB Teddy Bridgewater (UL)/Ryan Nassib (SU)
RB George Winn (UC)/Jerome Smith (SU)
WR Alec Lemon (SU)/Marcus Sales (SU)
WR Mike Shanahan (Pitt)/Andre Davis (USF)
WR Devin Street (Pitt)/Brandon Coleman (RU)
TE Travis Kelce (UC)/Ryan Griffin (UConn)
OL Justin Pugh (SU)/Betim Bujari (RU)
OL Sean Hickey (SU)/Adam Masters (UConn)
OL RJ Dill (RU)/Alex Kupper (UL)
OL Chris Jacobson (Pitt)/)/Martin Wallace (Temple)
OL Mario Benavides (UL)/Mark Popek (USF)

DE Trevardo Williams (UConn)/Jamil Merrell (DE)
DE Brandon Sharpe (SU)/BJ Dubose (UL)
DT Aaron Donald (Pitt)/Dion Goggins (SU)
DT Scott Vallone (RU/Jay Bromley (SU)
LB Kaseem Greene (RU)/Tyler Matakevich (Temple)
LB Greg Blair (UC)/Yawin Smallwoood (UConn)
LB Sio Moore (UConn)/Maalik Bomar (UC)
CB Wreh-Wilson (UConn)/Adrian Bushell (UL)
CB Logan Ryan (RU)/Dwayne Gratz (UConn)
S Duron Harmon (RU)/Shamarko Thomas (SU)
S Jason Hendricks (Pitt)/Calvin Pryor (UL)

P Brandon McManus (Temple)/Pat O'Donnell (UC)
PK Kevin Harper (Pitt)/Brandon McManus (Temple)
PR Matt Brown (Temple)/Nick Williams (UConn)
KOR Ralph Abernathy (UC)/Matt Brown (Temple)

I'm not sure that Teddy did it without an OL or WR.. I think from a pure athletic standpoint UL had more dynamic rcvrs and rb's and I think one of the reasons the OL struggles at UL is that the play calling asks them to run alot of log running plays. I think the SU kids are maxing out the talent much better as is Nassib. Its also hard to tell when a play breaks down how much of that is the QB not reading the D or checking down properly without really watching game film. for instance the SU D decided it would let TB throw and take away the rest of the stuff they like to do to keep them from scoring. Rutgers failed at that the final game.

when you listen to the PC's you can see that teams took away different parts of the SU game every week and the coaches adjusted to that, other teams not so much. Too bad the offense was so new it took 5-6 weeks to work threw issues

Nice to see your computer back, alive and well. I thought it had joined the Big 12.
