Maverik Division I Media Poll: Penn State is No. 1

Penn State is 10-0 and sits atop the Maverik Media Poll for the first time this season.

The Nittany Lions are the sixth team to own the top spot.

Syracuse moves into No. 2 thanks to a streak of five one-goal victories. The nation’s other undefeated team, Hofstra, is third after dispatching Fairfield. The Pride own a first-place vote.

Notre Dame, then Denver fill out the top five.

Penn State No. 1, Hofstra Moves Into Top 5 of USILA/Nike DI Coaches' Poll

Penn State is No. 1 in both polls, regaining the top spot in the USILA/Nike Coaches' Poll. This morning, the Lions took over No. 1 in the Maverik Media Poll.

Syracuse jumps up a spot to No. 2, followed by Notre Dame, last week's No. 1. Hofstra moves into the top five at the fourth spot.

Last undefeated B10 team ranked #1 didn't last long. Not a big deal.

The Penn/PSU game was the weekend after Penn beat UVa and I believe they were ranked in the 8-12 range

I just can't imagine being a stud lacrosse player, having options on where to go and play and agreeing to sign with Albany State - dude must be one hell of a coach.

Beamerball schedule of lacrosse?

PSU has the B1G the remainder of the way. They should have a W against Rutgers but JHU, UMich and UMary could cause them problems. I am not worried about SU receiving a #1 ranking, except on Memorial Day, but the rankings seem to lack real analysis beyond the W/L columns. There was a time when a good run against a pansy schedule would not get you much attention.
