Welcome to being a 'Cuse fan

It’s been a good year despite a very disappointing night in the public eye lol.
My experiance in the past is that unfortunately Syracuse for some reason seems to look flat the first game after a bye.. They don't always lose but usually look flat.

We really need to play only FCS schools after bye weeks. And by FCS schools, I mean lower level FCS schools

It’s still October and all Cuse fans attention falls to basketball. A time honored tradition.
Of course I support the team but it does suck for those that don’t really care that much about college basketball, until March, and that team hasn’t given us that either…

Even that year had the Notre Dame game
Yeah that sucked with Devito playing but we won every game I went to in person that year besides at Pitt. Lmao

We just can't win at Pitt. I don't get it. I keep showing up every two years hoping for something different

Yeah unfortunately a lot of die hard hoops fans are losing interest quickly with the state of everything in college basketball.

I’ll add that anyone who is trying to cultivate their kids into being fans - hang in there and god bless your efforts! My kids middle school had an SU themed day today timed with the Pittsburgh game. My 10 year old is in that gray area where he wants to become like me and really get into SU football but every year something like this happens. It’s heartbreaking in that sense. My age 7-18 coincided with the best era of SUFB. My goodness I was so lucky… or unlucky… because it turned me into the diehard and sentenced me to everything that passed in the last 25 years.

Yeah, this pretty much solidified it in my head, we’re gonna be good, probably never “great” again in my lifetime (10-12 wins). Nor will I live to see gameday here.

Oh well tailgates are always stellar and top notch, hanging with friends and family always a treat, and there’s some pretty good football that is generally fun to watch certainly in the dome, and sometimes on the road too, that’s if the QB doesn’t have an epic historic horrendous performance.

No We are who we are, or whatever Coach that was that said you are what your record says you are.

The people having kids now are already the lost generation of Cuse fans. Lol

Yup. I'm a football only and this is the only sport/ team I follow.

Everybody outside the ACC Big 3 programs needs luck to have a 10-2 or better season. And two of those three have had issues getting to 10.

Generally speaking 9-3 is a great season. 8-4 a very good. 7-5 decent. 6-6 acceptable. 5-7 disappointing. Under 5 unacceptable. That is the case for 75% of P4 schools.

We can still get to 9-3 but the next game is a must.

Even the 90s had these losses. Pasqualoni was able to get the team back on the tracks most of the time that decade (93 is the exception)

Coaching is what shows now
Yup. Sometimes teams dont have it. 2001 beat down vs Miami is one such example. It only counts as one loss. I had us losing at least one of nc state / Pitt so not terribly surprised by this. Still annoyed but things could always be worse. Like the GRob era.

8-4 should still be goal. 9-3 I’d be very happy. Va Tech at home is the game we need to win.

We got killed by a 6-0 team, who we’ve not won at in 20+ years, who’s staff is 10-1 off of bye weeks.

This was not being blindsided.

Lets see how Fran and co. Rebound vs Tech

That 2001 Miami team is in the discussion for the greatest of all time. That SU team had a very narrow lane to win. Once SU decided to try and beat the Canes running east west and the refs allowed McKinney to hold Freeney that was the end of that game.
