I prefer to be #1 in the rankings at the end of the season. That's all that counts, really. Nice to get some recognition like this along the way, but, in the end, it's meaningless if we don't win the NCAAs. Seems like I remember that we weren't ranked in the Top 25 in 2002-2003 until February. And, we all know how that turned out.

If there were only six games a year it would suck. The original post was talking about a statistical ranking, not the top 25. It's really gotten out of hand, anytime anyone posts any form of ranking whatsoever, someone feels the need to say all that matters is being #1 at the end of the season.
Enjoying the journey is apparently no longer allowed for Syracuse hoops fans...the season is by definition a complete failure if we don't win the championship. People happy with the Final Four run last year? Losers that don't really get that all that matters is winning the championship.
As to the original question, I wouldn't have expected us to be anywhere close to the best offensive efficiency at this point of the season after the first few games. It does feel like this is a team that is getting better every week.
