su football and hoops are a train wreck. just renewed my season tickets for footbal and then read about melo. who is in charge up there? nothing but bad news all the way around ---next announcement will be no football indoor practice facility----geesh no one in charge --talk about lack of control----lets go womens softball!!!!----wow just wow. at a loss for words

i believe that in my 50yrs of su sports, the last two have been our darkest hours. no one in charge.boy do we need to win it all now

Why the last two? I'd say the last six months have been brutal and felt like two years...but I kinda fondly remember the Pinstripe Bowl win...

What happens if we don't win it all?

Yeah, the mental anguish of going 31-2 has been brutal.

OrangeAl has it right and how do the two bolded statements end up appearing in the same thought??

a complete rehashing of all the events of the past and more negative publicity. what happens if we do win it all,a complete rehashing of the events from the past, but with the national spin that we have overcome the adversity and persevered ---will speak much of positive syracuse image rather than the negativity we have had to endure---just my thought----

If 31-2 and a 1 seed is considered a "train-wreck"', I can't wait to see what happens when we right the ship.

A player flunked out. It's happened before and it will likely happen again. Step away from the ledge.

Yep, reminds me of the American Airlines flight attendant that had a meltdown while still on the tarmac.

The team is no train-wreck, but we have had a rough year from a public relations standpoint, no doubt. The BF mess, then the (bogus and premature) drug article and now loosing our center for the NCAA's because he no longer wants to pretend he's a student.

From my seat, loosing Fab is a net plus. Yes it's another negative headline. But it also shows: 1- we have a spine; and 2- we have academic rules that we expect student athletes to follow regardless of their 'NBA' potential.

Those blaming JB have it all wrong -- benching Fab means he IS in control. Letting Fab play knowing that he's out of academic compliance would have been exactly the kind of bad judgment that everyone's accusing him of.

how do we know it was Boeheim who made the call?

JB or staff -- they have academic compliance people on staff there. The point is ... benching Fab is an example of control .. not lack of control. If he refused to take care of his academics and was out of compliance, JB/the staff had no other option.
