I've noticed this the last two games, and don't know how long he's been doing it. Mon. night it was a woman in her forties/fifties who looked very pleased.

Post Standard answered my second question: Who is the man with the beard who is constantly on his feet, cheering and clapping? It is Scoop's father!

Scoop's dad...is the...in the aisle...combo-coach-pseudo point guard-parent-fan. Mr. Jardine can be heard yelling words of encouragement not only to Scoop, but all of the players on the team.

My favorite was...when he got after Dion as he he was rubbing his injured wrist, "Don't be a baby, get in there and make a play", and on cue Waiters did just that, as Tomcat is my witness.

It was great!

I'm sure the players can hear him, especially when they are on his side of the court which is opposite our bench. I'm sure Nicholson row can hear him too.

The elder Jardine knows the game and when the action is over he's very engaging and informative.

He calls it like it is.

That's what I love about him.

Cool Dude!!

The woman is CTO. Damn right she looks pleased. Anything is better than dodging the basketballs that have been targeted at her recently.

Please note: this is totally tongue in cheek; I have no idea what CTO looks like. I always kinda thought she was a cheerleader.

Scoops dad: I knew it had to be the father of a player. I sit right across from him in 309 and sometimes his enthusiasm so distracts me that I forget to watch the action on the floor!

The woman is CTO! Does he hug her for every game?

CTO was at the Marquette game about 10 days ago, was that when you saw the hug? She was at the Fordham game too but that was back in November.

I sat next to Scoop's dad at a Rutgers game at the RAC in '08-'09... (the season before The Jonny Flynn teabag on Rosario, though I was at that game too)...Scoop's dad kept yelling, "Make foul shots!!!" at Scoop, who was struggling from the line. It was pretty funny. He said it more like an order than words of encouragement. Pretty funny stuff. Scoop's dad was very nice, though an intimidating presence with the bad ass beard and shaved head.

Pretty sure it was Neil Gold's wife and not CTO.
It's not CTO, wrong part of the court I believe. I have asked this question before without an answer but I think you are right Vz based on my memory and now looking at a pick of Neil.

Was this gentleman sitting next to the woman who hugs Scoop?

The Gold's travel to most away games too, great fans and supporters of SU.

You think we're good fans, try topping this, and that ain't no horseradish folks :)

PS: The Gold's sit courtside opposite the visitors bench.

That would be them

Gee, that Gold guy has my husband's "joke bathroom" beat by 100 miles! Our bathroom is getting a reno, and for a prank my husband painted the old mirror orange and blue and put an Otto sticker on it and somehow made the lights glow orange. He had great fun with it, but you couldn't pay him to watch a game.

I'm gonna miss seeing Scoops dad next year. Does he live in the area or does he go to every game?

who's the jackass that throws up the Towel whenever the other team is shooting free throws?

I've used Golds Horseradish for years - good stuff. Never knew they made all those other types of mustards & relish. Gotta get me some of them.

I have often wondered how the meeting went between Papa Jardine and Cousin Bobby after the latter's infamous campus visit . . .

Hahaha that's towelman. You don't like his moves?
I did like earlier this year when I saw a couple small kids imitating him, that was entertaining.

He has his towel but he is almost directly behind the hoop stantion so he isn't affecting much

So how did Gold get all of those items from the athletic department? Such as the ball, replica ring, the Melo autographs and such? And how does he know all of the players and coaches?

He is without doubt the most traveled SU fan we have. He flys on some of the charters, he sits behind the team on the road. He's on Good Moring America when SU is at MSG. I'm sure he's a huge donor to the program. He even participated in JB's fantasy camp & filed reports on it.

He's also the president of the SU Alumni Association

He probably bought some of the stuff and was gifted the others.
