- Because Tech’s reputation is based on beating what we now know to be a highly over-rated Florida State team. Is there really any difference between beating Ohio U. 38-22 and Georgia State 35-12?
- What you saw last week was not just a pro-style passing attack but a pro-caliber passing attack. Kyle McCord put the ball where only his guy could catch it and his guy did catch it, over and over. We threw short and long, to the sideline and over the middle, to tall guys and fast guys. He made the receivers look good and they made him look good. But they didn’t just look good. They are good and the ACC is going to find that out. Georgia Tech, you’re up first!
- Who can guard Oronde Gadsden? Who can do it and keep up with Trebor Pena, Zeed Haynes, Jackson Meeks and the others?
- I have to feel our running game will get better as the line matures and the defense has to focus on McCord’s passing. Let’s see if Lequint Allen can match Jamal Haynes. And can Haynes do all the things Allen does for us?
- I also have to think that our rushing defense can’t be that bad. I don’t think it was a lack of ability. Those guys just didn’t have their act together and I’m sure the coaches were all over them this week. Also, I think having the guys on the microphone get hurt shook this defense up. They’ve had a week to transfer that responsibility to someone who has had a week to acclimate themselves to it.
- Fadil Diggs got off to a slow start but was making his presence by the end of the game. Coach Brown said that he expects Diggs to become the key player on the defense this season. Let’s see what he does in this game.
- There will be even more fannies in the seats for this one than last week and those fannies are going to make even more noise.

We have a pro-caliber passing game that could win us a lot of games we’d have lost in past years. Tech sems to be a bit vulnerable to the pass. That makes it their running game against our passing game. Tech could grind up the clock and finish drives, putting pressure on us to be very efficient for the passing game. But we could jump out to a big lead, forcing them to run less and pass more. We’re better on 3rd and 4th down on both sides of the ball- so far. We get more kickoff returns and go farther with them, but still not as far as a touchback, which is what our kickoffs tend to result in. We figure to gain yards with every exchange of punts – if it’s an exchange of punts.
