That's what happens when you are an invite team from a non-affiliated league to the bowl. Noticed that they gushed over Minny constantly! This was the worst broadcasters ever! Even my father-in-law who doesn't follow SU sports(even though he is an alum) said that they kept stating the same crap and did no homework on the teams.

Broadcasters on Minny.
1. Kill's coaching staff has been together for years. (Too many times)
2. Kill on the sideline. (Too many times)
3. Who's going to be the quarterback? Leidner or Nelson (Too many times)
4. Minny lost their top receiver. (Too many times)
5. The offense haven't scored in 180 minutes? of play.
6. Minny is a disciplined team with not many errors.
7. Minny needs another win to win the most in 105 years! No bowl win since 2004.
8. How the Texas Bowl helps with recruiting Texas!

Broadcasters on SU.
1. Terrel Hunt is showing his poise.
2. Their kickers are not consistent and Shafer doesn't have confidence in them.
3. Jerome Smith is taking his game to the NFL.
4. They stated the O-line has been together the entire season (Hickey/Macky).
5. They won the rodeo competition against Minny.
6. A small mention that PTG is back from injury.(MVP of last years bowl)
7. No mention of the major injuries on SU. Secondary with backups?
8. No mention of SU playing in back to back bowls with new coaching staff and new league.
9. No mention of the kids that got to go for free!

Also had Dixon punting for Minny. Unlike another game where he was magically punting for the other team, at least this time the guy eventually corrected himself after what I am sure was his producer screaming in his ear that he named the wrong Punter.

On the first SU drive they called a tackle by Spruill against Hunt or Smith. (Wrong #11- look at the right sheet)

I woulda given a pass on all of it if they just would have shown the sideline reporter more often.

The radio coverage was similar [listed to a significant portion of the first half / pregame / halftime coverage on satellite radio]. Seemed like 80% of what was covered focused on Minnesota, with very cursory / obvious lip service paid to SU.

Halftime in particular was about 95% devoted to discussing what went wrong for Minnesota, the momentum they ostensibly got hitting the last second FG, etc.

Oh well. Helluva win.

Just in case he has to do one of our games again, someone needs to tell Brock Huard that it is most definitely not pronounced "suracuse".

Thats still less annoying to me than hearing about prince tyson goalie earlier this year.

My favorite was on the replay review on whether or not the catch by Minny touched the ground, which it clearly did. And the announcer kept saying over and over and over and over it was too close to call, even though it was totally obvious. And then after they overturned the call and the official said it touched the ground, the announcer said "but the evidence was inconclusive" Well it could not be inconclusive and obviously they saw clear visible evidence if they overturned it. Dumbest thing I ever heard in my life.

Did they even say the name Durell Eskridge once?

Harold Estrich was heard a few times. Huck Burrows didn't feel he was going to work in his defensive scheme though, so he sat.

I always thought that Mark Jones was a better announcer. However more so in football than in basketball there is a big drop off between the top announcing teams and the 2nd and 3rd tier. I'm sure part of it is due to the amount of homework done but also the production crew during the game as well. That said, Kaylee Hartung made up for it.

Not only that, he said it was possible a good part of the ball had touched the ground. One of the worst bits from the telecast, other than the complete lack of coverage of sending the kids to the game.

How about SU not having given up a 100 yard rushing game this year. That was only stated about 50 times. I did love the one about Minnesota having not had a 9 win season in 105 years. I can imagine the Gopher fans didn't like to hear that.

In fairness, what an absolutely ugly, mediocre fan to watch or broadcast unless you were a fan of either team.

Not only was the constant camera work on the Minny sidelines a joke, but FiOS owes several residents in Cicero a refund. The feed froze during the 4th quarter. We missed over 6 minutes of game time!!! If it was ESPN's problem they would have at least switched over to audio. Nothing. Thankfully the feed came back for the last 4 minutes, but the 15-20 minutes of watching Knicks basketball was painful. We had to get updates of the missed FG on ESPN Gamecast. Thank God for smartphones.

More troubling to me was the fact that I lost the broadcast feed a number of times, including for our entire next-to-last drive. I was listening to WAER for stretches of the 2nd half last night. Not accepted on ESPN Uno.

I think they were hoping to announce "history" if they broke the century mark, so they did everything short of putting a yardage countdown on the screen.

The one that got me was all the talk about the kicking game lack of confidence and not once mentioning that our #1 kicker wasn't playing.

On Minnesota's last drive, "they're out of timeouts" when they clearly had two left on the board.
