Let's say Fab doesn't play again this season. Looking back at the 02-03 tourney run, I think we just need a small amount of contribution from Baye and Rak so we don't get absolutely obliterated on the inside. Here are Forth and McNeil's combined stats from the Sweet 16 through the championship.

vs. Auburn
29 min, 6 pts, 8 rbs, 1 asst, 1 stl, 6 blocks, 2 to, 5 pf

vs. Oklahoma
40 min, 4 pts, 5 rbs, 4 asst, 1 stl 1 block, 4 to, 5 pf

vs. Texas
38 min, 4 pts, 5 rbs, 0 asst, 1 stl, 0 blocks, 2 to, 9 pf

vs. Kansas
37 min, 6 pts, 8 rbs, 0 asst, 1 stl, 5 blocks, 2 to, 9 pf

I think we can get at least something comparable to this from them.

Agreed. This is going to be a blow but last year we had little or no help from the bigs besides big rick and now we have atleast three more guys contributing will be a blow but nothing we can't handle

Difference is, Carmelo and Hak rebounded WAY better than KJo and CJ.

And in this season alone Melo has blocked/altered a gazillion more shots than Forth & McNeil did in 4 years.

Now, if only Kris can become Carmelo...

Who fills in for CARmelo?

This messes big time with out whole freakin zone.

That statement is patently false. McNeil was a pretty good shot blocker. Why don't you check some numbers first? JM had 100 blocks on the '02-03 season and finished with 260 for his career.

Forth had 63 the champ season and 205 for his career.

Currently Fab has 85 career, 60 this year. Great pace so far, and I agree our D is taking a huge hit, but to make that statement seriously shows disrespect to our National Champion Centers

You are very correct.

It just seems like Fab does more, but it's clearly not the case.

Did not realize they had 163 combined in 2002-03... My bad.
