Wow, Digger is fired up about the missed goal tend call

Guy's going to have a heart attack over it. Does he hate us that much? Yikes.

I've hated Digger ever since he did that corny hopping thing towards JB after ND beat us on a buzzer-beater about 20 years in the Dome. He's also one of the worst analysts who cover college hoops. The guy never does his homework, never gets names right and just repeats his annoying catch-phrases over and over again.

Was just going to post the same sentiments. I am so glad that Reece ended the thing by saying "well, I'm pretty sure Syracuse wanted to win that game too."

My question: would Digger have been as fired up about the call had SU lost? I doubt it. He would have been blowing Huggy Bear and lauding WVa for beating SU in the Dome.

Digger has a Syracuse complex. Always has.

Kudos to Hubert for blasting Digger. The voice of sanity.

It's funny because on the WVU board, they're having the exact opposite discussion of this. Digger is the hero, Hubert the idiot.

At this time tomorrow, no one will care. It will just go down as a win for us and a loss for them.

Digger seems to leave out:

A) It would've only tied the game
B) Syracuse would've had 10 seconds left, the ball and multiple timeouts with a chance to win.
C) WVA got the ball out of bounds on the sideline by their basket after Syracuse was called for an out of bounds off of the rebound. They had more than an adequate chance to tie or win the game in the final 6 seconds.

Digger acted like it happened at the buzzer and there was no other possible outcome but a WVA win.

Last play of the first half, Arizona player slams home the ball on a play where the ball is clearly still above the hoop in the cylinder when he touches it but no one calls it and they count the two for Arizona. So if Arizona ends up winning by 1 or 2 does ESPN make as big a stink about it?

I don't really get the outrage. It's not like we were still #1 and undefeated. If it makes everyone feel better call us 21-1-1 and move on. Refs missed a call, part of the game. It's not like we're one of the schools with the reputation of getting all the calls. If Digger is that upset, quit your job and become a ref.

In my mind, this is part of us being one of the big dogs. It's a top sports story when someone beats us or in this case, even comes close.
