UVa couldn't run the ball when he was playing so I think they relied on short passes almost as a replacement for running the ball. And a lot of those passes went to Kemp.

We could do worse.

Coach Beck certainly knows what he brings to the table. Let's see if we offer him. At the least, he knows the offense and could hit the ground running here.

The odd thing with him is that first he declared for the Draft...that tweet was deleted. He has never tweeted out that he was entering the portal. That was from other sources.

Agree. He would be a great replacement for Coop, who ended up being a key part of the offense when it got it's second wind.

He had 7 catches in each of the last 2 games of the season.

Sounds like he missed the 2021 bowl game as he had surgery and spent a while recovering from that. Not very productive in 2022 so not sure how much the injury played in that but he also missed a couple games due to illness. Lack of productivity was probably largely in part to the bad offense they ran. Would guess he would jump at the opportunity to be reunited with Beck's offense in Syracuse as he knows how successful he was in it in prior seasons in comparison. Wouldn't be surprised at all if this happens. 75 catches in 2021?!? Sign me up.

As much as i'd like a consistent true wideout I feel like a good slot guy may help more. Shrader doesn't exactly have a strong and accurate deep ball arm. At times it seems he may but for good portions of the past couple seasons he seems to have some arm issues for some reason or another. And I think Bruce coming back may be that guy and could replace Alford as the more reliable WR with Alford subbing in. Would love to see the addition of Kemp happen. A reliable slot guy that can get open consistently with good hands could be more valuable to keep the offense humming. Just watch the highlights above. Body and skillset seems similar to Pena but with more receiving experience and I can see both of them manning the slot positions next year.

Agree. My guess is that he prefers to come to Syracuse or NC State. Gets a chance to play relatively close to home against familiar opponents in the system he has been in the whole time he has been playing college football.

NC State has lost 3 of their top 4 WRs so playing time might be easier to find there. A lot might depend on if Billy liked working with Coach Beck more or Coach Anae.
