SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse begins a stretch of seven consecutive road matches on Friday, Sept. 5 when it takes on UMass-Lowell at 3 p.m. in the first game of the Colgate Nike Classic in Hamilton, N.Y. The Orange will also face Vermont on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. on the final day of the tournament.

The Orange (1-1-2) is coming off a 1-1tie against rv/-- Connecticut in its home opener on Monday. UMass-Lowell is 2-2- after a 2-1 loss to Marist on Monday, while Vermont enters this weekend's action with a 2-1 record.

ROAD WARRIORS
Syracuse will play its next seven games on the road. The road swing includes Syracuse's first two ACC games of the year at Louisville and at Miami. The Orange's next home match will be Sept. 28 against Pitt.

SCOUTING UMASS-LOWELL
The River Hawks had their two-game winning streak snapped at Marist in a 2-1 setback on Monday. Taylor Chianese and Sarah Raye both have two goals to lead the UMass-Lowell offense, while Shannon Groffie has two assists. Jill Carlson and Jane Hatzikonstantis have shared the duties in goal in the first four matches of the season. Carlson has 13 saves and a 1.60 goals-against average, while Hatzikonstantis has recorded six saves and a 1.16 goals-against average.

SCOUTING VERMONT
After winning its first two games of the season, Vermont lost to Fordham last weekend. Nikki McFarland leads the Catamounts in scoring with five points on two goals and an assist. Sarah Martin also has a pair of goals. Ally Ramos has started two games in goal and has a 1.37 goals-against average, while Coco Speckmaier has one start this season and a 1.96 goals-against average.

SERIES HISTORY
Syracuse will face UMass-Lowell for the first time in program history on Friday. The Orange has a 1-1-0 all-time record against Vermont. SU last faced the Catamounts in 1997.
