Thanks for this post!. As a guitar player of 35+ years? I very much enjoyed it.

Bonamassa is certainly a fantastic player. Shredder. When it came time for them to have call/response? Initially, Bonamassa leads. Impressive. Gales responds with a twist. Joe shreds, Gales echos. Cool.. but... Gales next response? Joe laughs so hard he surrenders. (when the guy walks out) He gives Gales the lead. I dont know how you couldn't. Each subsequent question? Gales takes it somewhere else. Fantastic example of great guitar players surrendering to the HOT hand. (In this case, the one having a more creative moment) NO ego. Love it.

My Fender>Gibson comment? Not to say either guy is better, but I stopped listening to Bonamassa when he went Gibson.
Not for me. I've yet to hear the dynamics that put him on the map when he played a Fender. To each his own.

I really like this. In the early 90's, spent 3 months driving cross country, to see our east coast college friends that were spread coast to coast.

Maybe it was Nebraska? Only Main Street paved. Pawn shop owner, born in the 1920's, dropped this style on us.Blew our mind. Love it.

EVERY cow was being killed. They had rounded up 5,000? and the screams were so loud we went to see. Mind melt. Couldn't eat red meat for a month.

Hit the 3 bars in town. Cowboy bar? Never been so propositioned in my life. We left because we figured every gal was a hooker.

I guess we wound up at the native American bar. While they invited us to their table? Half of them despised us. Had fun with the others that decided not to hate us.

3rd bar? More like a porno casting call. Whole damn place was completely messed up.

Only saving grace? That old bastard, that played us an ancient tune at a pawn shop.

As a fellow Marauder, I am partial to Joe. But, when I saw this video, I had to see more ofEric Gales. He is amazing. He and Joe just completed an album together.

One of those artists I don't think about until I hear her, then I remember how great she is. This song makes me think of my best friend, may he RIP.
She also seems like a really, really cool person and good role model for young people who may have strayed off the good path.

Nice! After that jam? Joe called Eric the best blues/rock guitarist in the world, right now. I can see why.

I'm a single coil player, with an affinity to reckless abandoned...

I may not prefer Les Paul's, but when Billy Gibbons plays them through his 1950s Tweed pros? Jaw drop. Now this is a 1954 hardtail fender strat. Straight up ridiculous. (Perhaps into metal panel) Cant express how much I love this tune. Tone is unreal.

I really like Tele's. No crap to anyone, I just like that single coil energy. :)

To each his own, of course. That tune is also rumored to be through a broadcaster... I dunno, but its awesome. (I hear more tele, fwiw) Tele's may be the best thing, ever!

The last 25+ years I've only played Fender Strats. After playing my fathers 60's Gibson SG through my 64 Marshall? I almost bought a Les Paul, because it was awesome! So I get it. While Gibson shopping, I lost my personality playing through humbuckers, so I bought another Fender American Deluxe instead... lol.

Rage against the Machines, Killing in the name of? Completely violent. Completely single coil Tele. I own a handful of old Marshall Amps. and I have that exact same amp. Same year. Same model. I have Plexis, Bluesbreakers, Metal Panels, and JMP's with plexi voltage... (the first jcm 800's) Despite those, and a handful of tweed, and BF fenders? I can't remove myself from a Jcm800 2205. (mediocre) I did a project with an Editor for Guitar player magazine. I think I brought my fancy amps to impress him. He straight up told me to stop, and bring my "mediocre" classic Marshall, because I wasn't me without it. (30+ year connection, and he knew it) The only piece of gear that is important is the one you connect with. I'm pretty damn sure I need to add a Tele to that conversation.

I came into electric guitars late, dabbled for a while, and have gone back to acoustics. I started with a used MIM Tele, which still sounds terrific (my nephew has it now). Moved "up" to a PRS 22 Std, solid slab of mahogany, no cap. Sounded woody, which I liked. Two humbuckers & 5 position switch, but just could never quite get the Strat scream or the LP crunch. Also later on had an Ibanez S 670 QM dragon-eye burst, which I eventually traded back in on a bass, same style. I played the solid bodies through a Fender Blues Jr III, which I eventually sold with the PRS. Today in my mellowed out age I'm playing a Taylor 214ce-K DLX and a Martin D-35. With 11-52's on the Taylor you can still do a lot of bendy bluesy stuff. Once in a while I still get the bug for an electric. Last month saw an Epi SG on the wall for $150. Should have bought it on spec just to noodle around with, went back the next day and it was gone. No surprise. No idea what I'm coming into next, but this one is singing to me :)
