Taking the names out of the equation. Think to really run a effective zone you need the following:

C- 6’11-7’0”- 240lbs- Could get away with a bit smaller but better be a jumping jack or thick.
PW- 6’9”- 6’10”- 220 lbs, Need size for rebounding and length for backside coverage
SF- 6’7”- 6’8”- Again, need length
SG- 6’5”-6’7”- Size for rebounding and wingspan at top and covering middle
PG- 6’0”- 6’5”- If under 6’2” better be lighting quick like Sherm, Flynn

Certainly you have to adapt to what you have and guys like GMAC who can score the ball can make it work. This issue I have with this team is we are playing a guard at small forward, and don’t have a power forward. Cant run this defense with a backline this small even with Sid back in the mix. AG need to move to shooting guard and get us back to large team down low.

Next year should look like this:
C- Sid, Edwards
BW, RB
QG, WOODY
G- AG, BB
PG, KR, JG

If MD Stays plug him in to forward, skinny but tall enough to rebound and cover ground. If JB wont move AG then we need to recruit a tall 2G. IMO we need to get a transfer PF (6’9”- 240) and big Center especially with injury problems. Who knows about Frank but seems like a forward or a project. AKOK seems like one of the best dudes on the team but should be A 4 year backup type as just does not seem to be athletic enough.

ideally you need size and speed out top. range and wingspan on the wings and a shot blocker underneath. one caveat. ideally you don't play 100% zone.
