Zone Coverage

Players are covering space rather than the players. Too many times will guys be open in the zone without a man even moving towards the open player. It's not the scheme, it's the players' lack of ability to identify the open man and covering the most dangerous receiver. The long pass to DJ woods had 4 DBs in space, about 30 yards off the LOS, but no one stepped up to even contest Woods, they were too stuck in staying in their zone, with no other players to cover than Woods. Sad.
