Too be fair, the Rays play in a mausoleum. If they aren't playing loud music, you have to keep your voice down it the guy three rows down can here your conversation.

Great place to bring your kid without worrying about crowds.

Some rowdy fans can be rough for children to be around but I've seen some detestable behavior by parents in rec league sports. They didn't even have the excuse of being drunk.

Endorsements aside, they get paid by their club (one source), which is in NY. They don't get paid by the other clubs or MLB. Just like I don't file taxes in all the states I travel to for my job.

This Dino vs Coach Fran stuff is strange. Dino's plan when he came here worked. He just couldn't sustain it (reasons up to debate). He elevated the program and built a foundation. Coach Fran is building on that with more of an identity, and elevating everything Dino built on. Less we forget players were drinking soda in the facility before Dino came.

So Red is struggling, We just brought in a very good recruiting class in like how many years, very solid portal class and we are in the thick of it for tremendous 2025 players. Also, by the way banking on returning players heavily. Did he tell you he was struggling, any other coaches? Tough times to navigate, I am banking on Red doing it the right away, he already is. We unfortunately have 1 transfer completely unexpected, MB, the rest you can assume whatever you like. He has hit it out of the ballpark this off-season. No matter what, comings and goings

I agree with everything you said but what can the NCAA really do? It seems their hands are tied in a lot of this. I don't know exactly, I haven't thought much about what it can do now - I've thought more about what I think the structure should be in the future (basically pro model). But...

I'm on a Hill Society Zoom right now with ADJW and Red. Red confirmed that Eddie is in the fold. JW said Red did a great job this weekend working with Eddie's Mom. They expect to have him on campus next week, but they also admit that a team theoretically could tamper and there is no binding contract they can sign. JW said an SEC team was trying to poach Lampkin but unfortunately doing so is legal.

Eddie would be given an opportunity to have a great 5th year and focus on doing everything possible to help him earn money after college too. If he does work on his conditioning and hit the weight room a bit more there is a lot he could do that benefits both himself and the team ( on top of the player he already is).He isn’t getting the same kind of opportunity at A and M no matter what they are willing to spend.

Looks like the talent will be better. JAB credits Melo for making him look smart. As someone who has a lot of coaching experience I can state that coaches can make a difference in training and preparation but the talent will usually win out. In college sports emotion is also very helpful.
 
I just attended a webinar hosted by AD Wildhack and Coach Autry titled “The Current and Future State of College Athletics and the Impact at SU”.

One attendee asked about the status of Eddie Lambert’s commitment and Red’s reply was “it is as solid as it can be without a binding agreement. We hope to have him on campus next week”.

JW added on that an SEC school clearly tried to tamper, which they are allowed to do, but Red did a great job last weekend with Eddie and his mom.

I don’t envy coaches and ADs. This is such a mess that actually coaching games seems like the lowest of their priorities.
