Cuffe

Early last year Red was playing 9 men, but injuries hurt that.
Uptempo and pressing needs at least 9 and 11 would be better.
Turn people over get easy baskets, and wear teams out by the 4th quarter.
Yes but they play half's not quarters.

What I've been saying... there's 80 minutes at guard... has nothing to do with whether he deserves to play... the minutes are not there especially if we sign another guard... can't be stingy with Moore's minutes or he'll leave considering the present state of college basketball... Westry plays if he's healthy. His only chance at pt is if we don't get Evans or another guard and if Westry spends more time at sf than guard... then there might be 10 minutes for him on the court... we'll have to wait and see how the "ifs" pan out.

Westrys minutes I expect more at the 3 not the 1/2. At this point it seems the expectation is Moore will need a year to develop unless there is thoughts he could be ready that haven’t been shared…

i see westry at the 3 too...otherwise there are only 3 forwards on the roster

its why I think copeland was let go...chance is taking his role

not sure why everyone seems convinced chance is a guard when its pretty clear he will play at forward to me

problem I have with the 4 forwards - freeman, westry, bell davis...is i see 3 small forwards and 1 PF...same problem as last year

Davis can play the 4. He's built

Don’t count out Choppa. We need outside shooting and he’s our second best shooter behind Bell. He also works his tail off. It may be hard to keep him off the floor.

Cuffe hadn't played much prior to last year. Went through some struggles and had a few bright spots. He's physical, has good leaping ability, and good enough form on his jumper to be a 35-38% shooter. He's a nice development piece.

He is a heck of an athlete who was injured. I expect a solid year from him

Cuffe is a very good and potentially elite defender. He showed flashes towards the end of last year of his offensive game where he can shoot well off of bounce passes. I think a very underrated backcourt lineup we may see at times next year to frustrate other teams backcourts is Carlos and Cuffe.

i realize he has a good inside presence and is strong but i just wonder if he has to guard someone 3 or 4 inches taller, how that might go...there are rosters out there that can put two tall players on the court at the same time...

Yeah, like Syracuse.

I do think people are sleeping on the real possibility that Cuffe improves a bunch and makes a leap this season.
I agree 100%. I said many times last year I wouldn't be surprised if he took a giant leap at some point. That's why I was VERY happy to see him not enter the portal so hopefully he can take that leap while wearing orange.

Cuffe had an injury that slowed him down, correct? Let's hope that's a thing of the past and he can get back to being what he was athletically because that seemed to be his strongest asset, his athleticism. Agree, loved his energy on D and he has to find his place in this offense.

cuffe and westry are 2 cars sitting on blocks in the yard. you keep telling me they're fast.sorry but i gotta see it.
Hope you don't have to see it when you're standing in front of those two cars Debbie Downer.

Cuffe showed the pace last year just not the handle and confidence attacking with the bounce to go with. Some of that looks like a guy still learning to trust those knees. Usually happens year 2.

I really like Cuffe and I expect him to really improve in the off season. From the outside looking in, he seemed to be a guy that didn't complain and went in to the game with energy and a purpose. He played tough defense and he played hard. If he is not in the rotation, that means we have a heck of a team.
