Everything is a Title IX situation. It’s why SU doesn’t have wrestling. It’s dumb. Lacrosse is a perfect sport for the ACC footprint. As college football moves more toward a professional sport, Title IX restrictions should be relaxed.

I think NCSt demonstrated that a team of mercenary transfers can take an entire season to develop (if at all). And it shouldn’t be lost on anyone that NCSt very nearly had no chance at the tournament. Almost no team is going to replicate that kind of run.

It’s inconceivable to me that all ACC programs don’t have lacrosse.

I agree it’s depressing. But then, I don’t think college football is going to be college football very much longer.

My opinion is that boulder has cleared the top of the hill. It’s all about momentum now. Employee status; Union; salary caps; corporate underwriting; relaxed (or abandoned) academic standards; and yes, strikes. Most of all, perhaps, the loss of the college identity, which will exist only in name.

If SU were to end up in a national conference of private schools, I would be okay with that.
