NCAA Elite Eight Games for Sun March 31

Yes, 5 straight wins in the ACCT, followed by 4 straight in the NCAA Tourney (including a 1-seed UNC and a 2-seed Marquette during that stretch, as well as 2 wins against Duke) -- just terrible! Curious, is he the worst in the country Cuse181?

I would hope the entire board shares your sentiment and rooting interest. I certainly do. And yes, very fun, especially DJ Burns.

Can you please provide more details or context on Devos's comment on Bell? Everyone else has been saying 50/50 or staying. This is the first I have seen of someone credible saying he was gone.

    Onions !!

Yeah, great memories as I was at that fantastic BET. That was actually the 2nd day in a row GMac did that -- the day prior he hit a 3 at the buzzer to beat Cincy. Monster tournament for Gerry -- hit a bunch of big threes the next two days as well against G'town and Pitt. Needless to say he...

Adam, I actually prefer Blackjack, but count me in if this Vegas thing materializes -- this has incredible potential!

Cuse opens as 9 point dogs at Clempson.

But this is what you are not factoring in -- it is meaningless to look at the last 5 losses for us. This is a completely different team since Benny was kicked off the team. They are gelling now with great chemistry and playing their best basketball of the season -- in the last month their loses...

Cuse opens as 9 point dogs at Clempson.

And I see it is -9.5 this morning. Is it just me, or does this seem higher than it should be? The records are nearly identical and we have been playing much better since the Wake debacle (particularly the flow and balance of the offense). I would think it should be Clemson -5.5 or -6 (at most)...

    Virginia Tech Postgame Thoughts

This is the way I see it as well. And even with that "over the hump" scenario in your 2nd sentence, I would still be nervous as hell on Selection Sunday. As for the game, Judah seemed like he could do anything he wanted on the offensive end -- truly was unstoppable and completely carried us on...

    ND post game

If it's the one I am thinking of, despite the fact that some of the crowd cheered (thinking it was a swish), it was an airball that hit the netting on the way down.

We won. That is all that matters right now

I was thinking the same thing -- an extra win could help us me thinks (if not "double-bye").

    UNC Postgame Thoughts

Wow, this makes absolutely zero sense. However, it bodes well for us simply going by this pattern -- Ga Tech will not be big underdogs on Saturday like they were in those three.

    UNC Postgame Thoughts

Agree -- just an amazing transformation for JJ once the calendar changed over to 2024 -- he's like a completely different player than the was in the first two months. I have complete confidence when he shoots now.

    UNC Postgame Thoughts

Was thinking the same thing because I was getting the nervous feeling that I usually only get in those big Tourney games -- felt like that West Virginia win (since the following game vs Houston wasn't very close).

    NET and KenPom Tracker 23-24 (SU = 84 3/9/24)

Wow, your memory is better than mine but this certainly is very encouraging since we could very well end up being in a similar situation as NC St. That said, would feel a lot more comfortable if Oregon does in fact become a second Q1 (and Pitt stays there of course).

My wife yelled at me for screaming at the TV

Same -- she told me I scared both her and the dog. And yes, at least 5 years -- so I have no regrets, lol. In fact they mentioned on the broadcast it has been 7 years since they had one at the Dome (Gillon vs Duke). And Battle hit one that same season at Clemson.

Buddy Boeheim: Signing 2-way with Pistons

Awesome video -- thanks for sharing! I sure miss Buddy's sweet stroke. The Knicks actually need a shooter off the bench to replace Quickley's offense. Just sayin'.

    BC Postgame Thoughts

He was really fantastic -- besides all the points, 4 was the magic number for Maliq -- 4 blocks, 4 steals, 4 assists, 4 offensive rebounds, 4 defensive rebounds. And those two shots that Bell hit late were huge too (including a three).

    Niagara Postgame

I agree that Brown is better (by a lot) but don't really mind McLeod starting because he is not actually playing much (only averaging 15.7 mpg on the season). Brown has gotten increased minutes as of late -- 22 mpg on the year but 26 mpg over the last 4 games. If you brought McLeod off the...

    Give it to Red today

Cuffe?? Are you guys related or something? He played 3 minutes, went 0-1 with a foul and had 0 pts/assists/rebounds. Meanwhile, JJ Starling had his greatest game in a Syracuse uniform and didn't warrant one of your 4 highlights? (but Cuffe did?)

    Cornell Postgame Thoughts

Agree -- was just about to post this -- both were huge shots when Cornell was within 2 possessions. Also, the first one of those shots was when Mintz was still on the bench with the 4 fouls (and there was big offensive drought at the time).

Syracuse vs USF in Boca Raton Bowl (Dec 21)

I'm sure they will put the Bowl game on a big screen like they did for the NCAA Soccer Championship last year.

Syracuse vs USF in Boca Raton Bowl (Dec 21)

This is really great -- not only a warm weather location, but in primetime at 8pm. That 11am game outdoors at Fenway in late December would have been brutal.

    2023 college football playoffs

This is silly. You are not giving them enough credit for their defense. They just held the high-powered Louisville offense that came in averaging 31 ppg to a mere 6 points. Sure, they are not as sexy a team with Travis out. But remember the one Super Bowl that the Giants lost (2000 season)...

    2023 Bowl Projections thread

Brings back memories of a fun bus trip I did in 1985 for the Cherry Bowl. It was a big deal at the time -- first bowl in 6 years, and only the 2nd in the previous 20 years. We lost to Maryland but did kill about 3 cases of beer on the trip out. And one neat factoid -- the chaperone on the bus...

    2023 Bowl Projections thread

This is amusing to me (in a good way). If we get bumped down due to an FSU loss, we go from a very cold Fenway Park to a warm, vacation destination down in Florida. It would be just terrible if we get bumped. :)

    LSU Postgamer

Agree -- the ball movement was excellent tonight. There was one possession in particular that must have had 5-6 passes and ended with a Taylor three in the corner in front of SU bench. In general, the team was pretty unselfish, except for the one drive by JJ in first half when he should have...

I would agree with this take, especially if Chesney is in fact there. There had been a lot of speculation on here yesterday that Mullen was coming back today. But no one from the board has spotted him as of yet. If he is at the Dome, I am assuming he will be in Wildhack's box. So if any of...

Yes, this source here seems pretty legit as he has 4,500 followers. This would be an incredible development after seeing the depressing MSU $$ news from both Bees and Bulldog (less than a minute apart) about 90 minutes ago. Perhaps they can check with their sources again later and see if...

    Tennessee Postgame Luau

Yeah, I was going to mention something similar because it really bothered me that Mintz was on the bench so long just because he had picked up two fouls. The lead went from +9 to -5 at the half -- no offense whatsoever in last 10 minutes of the first half. Even though we made a run in the 2nd...

Yes, Villari sure made it an unbelievably fun day up in da Bronx yesterday. On a few of those runs, with tacklers draped all over him it brought back memories of the great Mark Bavaro run vs the 49ers back in the day. And those who attended really got a trifecta -- great pre-game (which a...

    Pitt Game - Yankee Stadium

    Pitt Game - Yankee Stadium

Will be great November weather -- so for anyone driving it will also be good for tailgating. Although it never works for the late December Pinstripe Bowls, I recall tailgating outside for ND (2018) on the rooftop of one of the parking garages.

    Who is better than advertised?

Agree 100% on Cuffe (and I don't disagree on Taylor, but I already really liked him from last year). But getting back to Cuffe for a second -- during the summer (before Westry got hurt), saw some posts on here that there might not be enough minutes to go around for him to play much this year...
