The most interesting (and semi-plausible) idea that I’ve heard bantered about is going independent and packaging TV rights with Notre Dame (and potentially USC if they were to bail as well).

I can tell you that there are discussions happening within the UofM leadership about their participation in the conference if the other universities try and move forward with this deal over Michigan and USC’s vehement opposition.

Michigan’s Board of Regents voted unanimously against the deal. UofM has an Acting President that I would not expect to go against the Board of Regents. Also, Michigan has zero intention to do any favors for the rest of the conference that stabbed them in the back.
