As to why Syracuse and other ACC teams favored Louisville to replace Maryland. The ACC needed a football team and Louisivlle was on the upswing. UConn fans act like we owed them support, but Gross was smart and sided with FSU/Clemson in wanting the Cards. Regardless of the final outcome Louisville is showing they will be good post-Strong.

The ACC might not have a team in the top 10 by season's end.

bet with strong defense gone they won't be as good tho edit: as in coach strong

While I would like an ACC where every member institution resides in a state that touches the Atlantic Ocean; once you lost Maryland and the contiguous borders, and South Bend IN got added, Louisville became a much better option than FConn. ACC already has a New England presence, and Louisville cements the population rich Ohio valley.

Wake Forest doesn't leave North Carolina for its last 6 games.

Gotta love the ACC.

They sound like Syracuse basketball.

FSU with the ball, great field position and less than 5 to go. They control their own destiny right now. Get a couple first downs, burn clock, get the TD.

Yukon is a punt return touchdown from losing to stony brook. stony brook. let that sink in, I watched a game between stony brook and UConn and there wasn't a clear talent discrepancy. UConn is so bad that when they lose by 2 possessions, and only get doubled in yardage, they tell themselves they have talent.

We will play 5 ranked teams this year. We would beat UConn by 35 pts (that is saying something with how dysfunctional our O is.)

Nothing will shut the UCONN -- or at least the Boys in the Boneyard -- up. They are convinced by their showing against East Carolina State University that they are just a four-star recruit away from a major turn-around and a return to the "glory years" of the Randy Edsall regime. They had better hope that Jim Delany has a mental breakdown in the next year or two and offers them membership in the Big Ten or they are locks for a permanent residence in the CBS Bottom 25 poll.

UConn fans will never understand that people like watching football games that take place in the environment Louisville brings to the table. Markets are important, but it isn't like the state of Mississippi is a desirable location. Mississippi has two schools with insane football environments that people like watching on tv for that reason.

I don't disagree they act like Syracuse betrayed them. We didn't owe UConn or any school anything. We had a healthy basketball series with them while in the Big East, but we left the Big East in 2013 and had nothing to do with the ACC picking Pittsburgh with Syracuse.

However, Syracuse didn't have to sue to leave the Big East and we paid an extra 2.5 million to get out 12 months earlier. When Maryland left Syracuse/Dr. Gross owed UConn no fiduciary duty he analyzed the benefits of both programs and decided Louisville was better than UConn. UConn fans use Baghdad Bob logic that Syracuse screwed UConn by choosing Louisville.

Last night should have ended the discussion for UConn fans. Louisville showed the nation they are going to survive the post Charlie Strong era. They lost the game, but they gave Florida State exactly what they wanted another top 25ish program to increases their SOS and give them a creditable scalp on their resume. UConn even during their BCS season never could have done what Louisville did last night. UConn hoops will survive the American stigma, but UConn football is DOA. Good decisions Dr. Gross Louisville was the right call.

Other than academics Louisville over UConn was a no brainer (pun intended) in every other way.

Winston showed me something last night.

And so did Louisville.

A lot of NFL talent in that game last night. Funny how the NFL knows this but the voters don't.

The ACC continually has almost as many draft choices as the SEC, but they actually schedule someone outside the sunbelt in non conference games, unlike the SEC. Give LSU credit for actually coming up to the Northeast for a game, too bad South Carolina won't come.

Especially since we wanted to make friends with the cool kids (FSU, Clemson, etc.).

Supposedly 40 NFL scouts and officials were at the FSU-UL game.
