You're right. Thats only part of the story. He used the Anish example as a parallel to that of Doug Adler's comment about Venus Williams in 2017 to illustrate a perceived double standard and to highlight the important of context in journalism.

That's exactly where he's coming from with this. He can't let that go. I don't read his column often anymore, but when I do there's a good chance he's ranting about this. He's a bitter old man now and essentially unreadable, much like Bill Madden.
