Are the Spurs the best franchise in pro sports?

Are you kidding? The Braves haven't been relevant for a while. The Cardinals are the best run baseball franchise right now and the second-best of all time.

The Rays are by far the best run franchise right now.

I could see thriftiest, but not best. Great manager, solid farm system, low payroll...and only one World Series appearance to show for it.

Going by his "since 1990" criteria, the Lakers have 5 titles to the Spurs 4. The Lakers have missed the playoffs twice to the Spurs once. I still give it to the Lakers.

The Lakers will be back in contention before you can blink. Everything that could go wrong did, this year. That won't happen again.
This year reminds me of when Payton and Malone came on board with Shaq and Kobe... Just not a fit or the right way to build a championship team. I respect the Lakes... I alsk think they are going to have to rebuild for a few years like the little cities. Kobe and Nash old, Howard leaving(?), Gasol unwanted it seems.
