Great football player turned actor. Was in many movies and shows but two special sports one stand out for me (Brian's Song and Maurie). Both tearjerkers. Seems like back in the 60's and 70's a lot of football players turned actors (Casey, Jim Brown, Joe Namath, Alex Karras, Freddie Dryer, OJ, Bubba Smith, Fred Williamson, Rosey Grier among others).
