Although the season is only days old lots of teams struggled in openers already. Michigan St did not wrap up their game until the final minutes. Wake needed OT to take down Tulane. There will be surprises today.
We knew WR and LB would be weak links. Last year we came out hot against Wake only to get blown out. Same for USF the prior year. I take it as a positive that the outcome was the opposite last night (largely due to Dungey but 11 players line up on each side of the ball) and the team found a way to win as momentum was slipping.
Wagner provides the perfect opponent to hopefully see the game 2 leap for many of our guys. I expect the offense and defense to remain vanilla in preparing for FSU. FSU will be huge on national tv and give us our first real glimps of what to expect this year. Never want to look ahead but I can’t wait for this game and hope the Dome is rocking!
