There were a couple tough calls at the end that didn't go our way (the MCW block and the Triche charge). But if you think about it, we were behind the whole game. The defense didn't have that intensity between the 10 and 20 minute mark of the first half when Michigan built their lead. When we cut it to four but couldn't get over the hump and they pushed it back out to 8 with about 3:40 to go, that was a momentum breaker. The 2 tough calls came later than that, of course, when we had cut it to a single possession.
Tough loss, but a microcosm of the year, really, with our offensive struggles.
On the plus side, people do remember Final Four runs, even if they don't end well, and that makes 4 now for Boeheim. Tough way to go out of for these guys, but at least they created a memory out of nothing. They were left for dead 3 weeks ago, and they played the best defense in the history of the tournament for the first 4 games. Couldn't expect to keep that up forever.
