SU Recruit Moustapha Diagne Deals with His Father's Death (Update; PS; Waters)

Moustapha Diagne arrived in the United States two years ago. He had just turned 17 years old.

He left his home and family in Dakar, Senegal, to pursue a better future through basketball and education.

He said goodbye to his mother and father, his two brothers and his two sisters and boarded an airplane bound for Newark-Liberty International Airport. He knew it would be a long time before he would get a chance to see his family. He would stay with a host family in Sparta, N.J., as he attended Pope John XXIII High School.

What he didn't know was that he would never see his father again.
