Eat-Your-Vegetables-Day-17th-June.png

Welcome to National Eat Your Vegetables Day!

Strategically created in the middle of National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, this day is the perfect opportunity to re-introduce a healthy portion of vegetables into your diet. No doubt about it, Eat Your Vegetables Day was created to promote a more healthy diet....for life!

On this day, you are encouraged to eat vegetables for every meal, and for a snack. Better still, try to be a vegetarian...for the day. Short of that, any additional vegetables at meal time today will honor the event, as well as make you a little healthier.

We encourage parents to let the kids help with dinner, preparing the salad and vegetables. Along the way, you tell your kids a little about the importance of vegetables for a long and healthy life.

The 6-foot-3, 196-pound Trotter is rated two stars and the No. 125 safety in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.com's composite rankings. SU is recruiting him for outside linebacker.

Trotter, who said he hears from Syracuse linebackers coach Tom Kaufman once per week, has missed significant chunks of the last two seasons due to injury. He also holds offers from Bowling Green, Toledo, Ohio and five others.

Eric Dungey — Meet the 2016 Syracuse Football team (the juice; Cheng)

There’s been a theme to sophomore quarterback Eric Dungey’s football career.

“Every year in high school, I had a new coach, a new offense,” Dungey said. “I’ve never had two years where I’ve been under one offense.”

That’s carried into his college career, with Dungey learning former offensive coordinator Tim Lester’s offense in his freshman season.

Then, Lester and the rest of the SU coaching staff was dismissed in the offseason, with Syracuse hiring new head coach Dino Babers. With it has come a brand new, lightening fast offense.

“You have to adjust on the fly,” Dungey said. “New coaching staff, so we had to learn a new offense. They expect the highest of us.”

So far, Dungey appears to have taken to the new playbook.

Football novice gets attention at camp (arkansasonline.com; Davenport)

It's not every day a recruit that's never played a down of football has multiple scholarship offers, but junior defensive end Kayode Oladele isn't the normal college prospect.

He arrived in the United States from Nigeria about nine months ago. He attends ATAP Academy in Miami, but the school doesn't have sports.

Miami Edison defensive coordinator Vic Evans said Oladele is allowed to play at Edison because it's the nearest school to offer sports.

Oladele, 6-5, 236 pounds, was one of the more impressive prospects who participated in Arkansas' satellite camp hosted by Florida Atlantic University on Monday. He was focused on basketball, but Evans was able to persuade him to give football a try.

"We told him realistically you're not going to be a center and get scholarships, but you could be phenomenal as a high school defensive end or linebacker," Evans said.

He started working out with the team in February.

"Temple was first to offer and did so without seeing him," Evans said. "They basically offered from word-of-mouth."

The Owls and others were able to see Oladele's athleticism during spring practice. He has added offers from Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Bowling Green, Florida Atlantic and others.

The ACC's 14 most important players in 2016 (espn; Staff)

Good luck finding a more talented quarterback in the country than Clemson star Deshaun Watson.

But is he the Tigers' most important player?

In Watson's case, yes, he happens to be both the best and most crucial Tiger. But setting aside pure talent, who's the single most important player on each ACC team?

Watson leads the list, but he's one of many ACC game-breakers to watch in 2016.

Syracuse Orangemen: QB Eric Dungey

Dungey is the favorite to win the quarterback competition and orchestrate Babers' desired offensive transformation. In eight games as a true freshman last fall, he was responsible for 16 touchdowns and 1,649 yards of offense. Good news for Cuse: Dungey will run less in the new scheme-which means fewer chances for hits like the one that caused the ugly head injury that cost him the final four games in 2015. But junior backup Zack Mahoney and early enrollee Rex Culpepper should stay ready: Due to injuries, Syracuse has used six different quarterbacks over the past two seasons.

Nearly perfect weather in Central NY for Father's Day weekend (PS; Montreuil)

Early morning hours both Saturday and Sunday will start in the 50s. Morning lows will be in the mid 50s on Saturday and in the upper 50s on Sunday. This is just about normal for mid-June and will be very comfortable for sleeping.

Bright, sun filled skies will help the temperature to rapidly climb during the morning hours both Saturday and on Father's Day. By the late morning hours, temperatures will be into the 70s.

Sunday will turn out to be hotter than Saturday. Afternoon highs should top out near or just above 80 degrees on Saturday, while mid and upper 80s are likely on Sunday. While that may start to get uncomfortable for some, the humidity levels will remain fairly low with dew points in the 50s. This should help keep Sunday afternoon from feeling too oppressive.

Just what does the offense lighten? The field? The uniforms? The scoreboard?
