Boxing Day is a holiday celebrated on the day following Christmas Day[1] in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth nations. Boxing Day occurs on 26 December, although the attached bank holiday or public holiday may take place either on that day or a day later.
In the liturgical calendar of Western Christianity, Boxing Day is the second day of Christmastide,[2] and also St. Stephen's Day.[3] In some European countries, notably Germany, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Nordic countries, 26 December is celebrated as a Second Christmas Day.[4]

Ranking ACC Football Bowl Matchups For 2016 Season | FOX Sports (Fox Sports; Parker)
The ACC will again be sending 11 teams to bowl games this season, including two heading to New Years Six games – we break them down from No. 11 to No. 1.
In just two days, the ACC will get their bowl season underway as both Boston College and N.C. State will take to the field and play their 13th game of the season. It will be the first of 11 bowl games featuring teams from the conference, meaning just three teams from the league aren’t bowling – quite the achievement for a “basketball conference”, right?
From the Washington, D.C. area to Miami Gardens and Glendale, Arizona to The Bronx, all 11 teams will look to do something that hasn’t happened in modern time: sweep the bowl season for a major conference. It won’t be easy, but an argument could be made the ACC could do it this year.
The bowl season will feature opponents from all Power Five conferences as well as the AAC champion, meaning the conference will have their work cut out for them. But, which bowl games are the best games this season?

Final week of 2016 brings typical Central New York weather (PS; Monteuil)
Syracuse- The weather this week in Central New York will trend a bit cooler and snowier than last week, but will still be fairly tame compared to the first part of December.
Freezing Rain Advisories are in place until Monday afternoon for all of Central New York as warm air pushes in from the southwest.
Warm air is less dense than cold air, so as the warmth starts to move in, it will do so first at higher levels of the atmosphere. The process of the warm air rising up over the cold air at the surface will help cause some precipitation to develop this morning and early afternoon.
With warm air above the surface, precipitation will fall as rain. However, with surface temperatures below freezing, the rain will freeze on contact with the ground, resulting in a thin coating of ice.
Precipitation will be spotty and light, so ice accumulations will be very minimal. However, it only takes a thin coating to cause problems walking or driving, so please use due caution.
