Welcome to Ballet Day!

There’s something magical about going to ballet. The music, the outfits, the utter passion of the dance as the ballet artists lose themselves to the performance, all of it comes together to create a beautiful, otherworldly experience for those in attendance. There is an almost magical power in their graceful movements across the stage, like flower petals on a stiffening breeze. Ballet Day encourages you to get out and see the ballet again, or for the first time if you haven’t already.

Syracuse football recruiting chart: National Signing Day 2018 (PS; Bailey and Mink)

National Signing Day is here (again).

The Orange inked 15 players back in December for the 2018 class. Syracuse has added two transfers as well, Oklahoma running back Abdul Adams and wide receiver Trishton Jackson (both players will sit out the 2018 season due to transfer rules).

Syracuse has room to take on six more players starting Wednesday. Below is the list of players who have already signed letters of national intent.

We'll update this list as players sign on Wednesday.

Clarence native donates $1 million to Syracuse football program | www.clarencebee.com | Clarence Bee (clarencebee.com)

Clarence native John Lally and wife, Laura, recently donated $1 million to the Syracuse football program. The money will go toward reconditioning one of the turf practice fields. When the Syracuse Orange football team steps out onto the field for the first game of the 2018-19 season, they'll owe a debt of gratitude to Clarence

Syracuse Football: Steve Ishmael gypped out of NFL Combine invite (itlh.com; Esden Jr)

Syracuse football wide receiver Steve Ishmael was gypped out of an invite from the annual NFL Scouting Combine. ITLH breaks down what this means.

Syracuse football fans have been spoiled. We have just witnessed two of the greatest single seasons in program history at the wide receiver position.

Before we go back in the time machine to look at those seasons, this is all thanks to the head honcho Dino Babers. We can’t iterate enough how much the Orange is the New Fast Machine has helped these receivers.

Not only with their collegiate careers, but also getting looks from scouts and NFL personnel. I’ve been at SU’s Pro Days over the last several years and there’s a palpable difference over the last two years in particular with Babers at the helm.

That’s because Amba Etta-Tawo and Steve Ishmael have exploded with video game numbers that are near the top of the collegiate scoreboards.

Lets take a look back via Sports Reference:
Etta-Tawo 2016: 94 receptions 1,482 yards and 14 touchdowns

Ishmael 2017: 105 receptions 1,347 yards and 7 touchdowns

Syracuse 2018 Recruiting Class Breakdown, Strength, Star, What's Missing (collegefootballnews.com; Fiutak)

Syracuse Recruiting Class Overview

Who doesn’t want to be a part of this passing attack? The offense might have its quarterback for the near future in Chance Amie out of Texas, and he’ll get a few decent running back prospects – starting with Jawhar Jordan out of Arizona – to help the cause.

There’s not much for the offensive line, but the receiving corps is full of terrific options.

The D needs help after a rough few seasons, and it’s mostly coming from the linebackers. Cameron Jonas is a terrific safety out of South Florida, but there need to be more of him and there’s not a lot for the defensive front.

The linebacking corps, though, is full of options all across the country. They need to get bigger, but the staff is recruiting speed.

Harden Furniture to restart limited operations (PS; Moriarty)

Harden Furniture plans to restart operations on a limited basis, a week after its assets were sold to a specialty lender.

"Initially, it will be a limited restart with a significant number of recalls," CEO Gregory Harden said in a statement Tuesday. "Not full production, but a lot more than a minimal schedule."

Harden, which has been making furniture in the Oneida County hamlet of McConnellsville for 174 years, shut down Jan. 31 after its assets were sold in a foreclosure auction to Big Shoulders Capital, of Northbrook, Ill., for $3 million. The company laid off its 172 employees.

Gregory Harden, the great-great-grandson of the company's founder, said after the sale that he hoped the furniture maker would be able to restart production quickly. Representatives of Big Shoulders Capital were scheduled to visit the company's factory on Monday.

"We continue to have very productive discussions with investors, potential strategic partners, and other parties that hopefully will allow us to complete the restructuring and return to full operations," Harden said.
