Amir Ealey Verbals to Syracuse (PS; Mink)

Syracuse picked up a verbal commitment from Coatesville (Pa.) three-star defensive end Amir Ealey on Sunday night, a source said.

Ealey, 6-foot-4, 236 pounds and rated a three-star prospect according to 247Sports, also played tight end for the Red Raiders. He took an official visit to Syracuse last weekend.

Ealey is the 25th commit in the 2015 recruiting class for the Orange. Also included in the class are 2014 holdovers Alin Edouard, Treevon Prater and Lamar Dawson.

The Coatesville native is the second prospect from Pennsylvania to join the class, though junior college-transfer Trey Dunkelberger played high school football in Pennsylvania as well.

Ealey is a teammate of safety Jay Stocker, another Syracuse target who took an official visit to campus last weekend.

Ealey also holds offers from Louisville, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina, among others.

Amir Ealey Reportedly Becomes 25th Member of Class of 2015 (DO; Blum)

Three-star tight end Amir Ealey committed to Syracuse on Sunday night, according to Scout.

He is the 25th member of the Class of 2015, and chose SU over offers from Maryland, Pittsburgh, Louisvile, Virginia and West Vriginia, among others. The Coatesville Area (Pennsylvania) SHS senior is the second tight end to commit to the class after Trey Dunkelberger chose SU on Nov. 24.

Tight end West Lindor left the Class of 2015 on Dec. 2, citing the fact that none of the coaches had kept up with him or returned his calls.

Ealey Chooses Syracuse Over Maryland (testudotimes.com; Volk)

Three-star Coatesville Area (Penn.) tight end Amir Ealey committed to Syracuse Sunday night, via Scout. Ealey took an official visit to Syracuse earlier in the month, and it was apparently enough to secure his commitment.

Ealey chose Syracuse over Maryland, UCF, North Carolina and Virginia, among others. He was the last known tight end target for the Terps, who have yet to make much of the position under offensive coordinator Mike Locksley, but it's possible that he could play defensive end at the next level.

Ealey is rated a three-star prospect by the 247Sports composite. He is considered the 34th-best tight end in the nation and the 20th-best player in the state of Pennsylvania. Unlike Tyler Green's commitment to Indiana earlier Sunday, this one does hurt a bit. Ealey was one of the few remaining serious targets in the class for Randy Edsall and Maryland, and they'll likely end up without a tight end for this year.
