Welcome to Feast of Fabulous Wild Men Day!

When is this holiday celebrated?
Feast on Fabulous Wild Men Day is celebrated annually on January 12 in the United States!
Happy Holidays everyone!
On this day we are encouraged to have a bit of fun, slightly on the naughty side! But don't get too carried away!!!

Origin of this Holiday
Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day.
It is possible this holiday may of been created by the greeting card industry because we find reference to it on greeting card sites-

"It's Feast Of Fabulous Wild Men!" "Ogle and whistle at all the hunks you come across ! Just act wild and ask all your friends to do the same." Send our smart, stylish and funecards to anyone you feel like and celebrate the day in a unique manner!"
Why January and Why the 12th day?
We did not find any reference to why the month of January or why the 12th of the month was picked. This holiday is referred to as a "National" day- However, we did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day. Even though we didn't, this is still a holiday that is publicized to celebrate.
So enjoy the day and have fun with it.

We found recognition from calendar sites and personal Internet sites that blog and share information about this holiday. Some sites talk about dating and the best ways to ask a man out on a date. Others talk about the sexiest man they ever went out on a date with and who was the wildest date to name.

Study Says Syracuse Football a Top 50 Program in Terms of Worth (PS; Axe)

Let's say you could take your forthcoming Powerball earnings and buy the Syracuse University football team on the open market.

How much would it cost?

According to an annual study, Syracuse football is worth $130.5 million.

That would rank Syracuse 48th among the 116 FBS teams ranked for the study.

Ryan Brewer, an assistant professor of finance at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus, conducts the study.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Brewer "analyzed each program's revenues and expenses and made cash-flow adjustments, risk assessments and growth projections to calculate what a college team would be worth on the open market, if it could be bought and sold like a professional franchise."

Alabama and Clemson meet for college football's national title on Monday night.

Recruiting Down the Home Stretch (insidetheloudhouse.com; Kelly)

Dino Babers and the Syracuse football staff will be getting back into the swing of things this week as we enter the home stretch toward National Signing Day on February 3.

For college recruiting junkies, the last few weeks have been excruciating with things in a bit of a holding pattern due to the NCAA-mandated “dead period,” but on Thursday that comes to an end. The dead period concludes on January 13, and Babers and his staff are wasting little time getting some of their top targets on campus for official visits.

The next three weekends will be crucial for the Syracuse football program, as some high priority recruits are scheduled to make visits. For some, will be their first trips to the Hill as Babers and his staff attempt to basically double the current size of the recruiting class. Fortunately, while the dead period limited contact it didn’t eliminate it altogether, and Syracuse has been able to reach out to several exciting prospects, many of which have received scholarship offers to play for the Orange.

Coldest Weather of Season So Far in Eastern US Drives Up Electric Power Costs (accuweather.com; Leberfinger)

Recent cold spells have been driving up the cost of electricity for power providers in the eastern United States.

The coldest air of the season so far pushed into the eastern U.S. during the first full week of January, leading to an increased power demand and higher wholesale prices, according to Bloomberg News. It may mean higher consumer electric bills in the future if the trend continues.

A glancing blow from the polar vortex will direct more frigid air into the central and eastern United States toward the middle of January. The cold air will also increase the snow chances.

The spot wholesale power for the Manhattan area increased by $1,157.88 to average $1,172.75 a megawatt-hour during the hour ended at 10 a.m. EST Tuesday, compared with $14.87 during the same hour Monday, Bloomberg reported.

The cost to supply electricity actually varies minute-by-minute, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).

During the course of a single day, the wholesale price of electricity on the electric power grid reflects the real-time cost for supplying electricity, the EIA said.

fsu and ND are as weak top 10 teams as we could ever hope to play.

So, they bought a G5 game. How SEC of them.

IIRC, Syracuse hasn't done that since Wyoming, though it wasn't presented that way. ;)

If 2-for-1 arrangements are getting harder to come by, then SU may have start buying G5 games outright in order to have 7+ home games.

There are still some out there...I think several of the MACs will do a 2 for 1 still...SunBelt too I figure...but we'll be traveling to places like Troy, Ypsilanti, and Kent.

I've driven by Troy a few times on my way to the Destin/Santa Rosa area. I don't know if that's a place where SU should be playing.

I wonder if FAU, FIU & GSU would do a 2-for-1+cash?
