Not sure if this is true but interesting nonetheless...

A random phone call later, and its still as murky as ever. Direct info from a low-level assistant on Tilton's staff. Here is a paraphrasing of the convo with the previously mentioned assistants old college roommate and AAU coach in the northeast:

'He is Georgetowns to lose as of today. Dorcina loved the Georgetown staff and even Nerlens was caught off guard by how much he liked the staff and team members. If everything was equal, Nerlens would still pick Syracuse. But Dorcina doesn't like the publicity she heard from Syracuse this year and Nerlens liked Georgetown enough to go along with his moms feeling. Syracuse heard the Georgetown rumblings and insisted Nerlens come back home for their in-home. I am not really sure where Kentucky is in the process. He didn't seem wowed by his visit, and Dorcina isn't too big on Nerlens going down south, but a lot of people I trust think Cal will get it done again.'

I know this is nothing earth shattering, as to me it came across as anybody's race still

sounds like some gtown fan trying to hijack our boat.

1. he says hes gtowns to lose.
2. he says hes cals to lose.

3. he leaves MCW out and expands on BS rumors that we don't run a good program.

I would Ignore. Our players this year have gotten along played unselfish and won together.
The school has emphasized academics in Fab case.

Go Cuse!

Lets get a few things straight

First of all it is between Us and Kentucky

Second im sure he was very impressed by Gtown going out again early round of the tournament

lets see how things change when he Us and prob Kentucky are in the final four,

and the bs distractions stuff from this year will not matter

Driving from Boston to Washington is 8 hours and to Syracuse it is 5. And then we got MCW leading the charge. I'll take my chances...

Guys don't get your panties all wadded up. This all sounds very legit. If mom doesn't want him going far away or he is concerned about "the south" then maybe UK isn't as high on his list as everyone assumes. Syracuse is perfect except for the fact that Caligula could run a basketball program that had fewer explosive scandals over the past 5 months. Georgetown is essentially a safety school for him.

JB and Hop have a LOT of selling to do at that in home visit. That selling needs to focus on their integrity and the credibility of the entire organization that is Syracuse Basketball. Was it Stephon Marbury's mom that didn't like Boeheim? If Hop and JB haven't been fitted for tap dancing shoes yet, they better get measured ASAP.

Who was the last recruit we wanted that they got? Honestly I can't even remember one. Meanwhile Kris, Dashonte, Rak, probably a bunch others that they wanted wore Orange.

Low level assistant high school coach? Not even an assistant coach? LMAO, sounds like BS. I doubt his HS head coach knows where he is leaning. This is just some "low level assistant coach" (probably mid-20's) who probably favors GTown trying to figure out where he is going from a biased view.

Mikael Hopkins was our xmas garbage... literally. That was their prize.

Hes Gtowns to lose but Cal will get it done even though NN wants to go to Syracuse. Yeaaaa ok.
dude covered his ass for whenever he picks any of his 3 possibilities. he'll come back with the i told you so after the kid picks a suitor.

I honestly believe Georgetown may have a chance in this. I really think the Thamel piece in the NY Times may have taken Kentucky out of the leader slot for Noel. I think Syracuse and Georgetown both now have a shot, and if JB can channel his inner Mariano Rivera on Wednesday in Boston I like our chance to beat Kentucky for Nerlens Noel.

It's certainly possible that all the negative media reporting on SU the last few months -- Bernie, the drug testing policy, Fab's academic problem -- could impact our recruiting. Let's hope that when JB and Hop have their in-home with NN and his mother they can dispel whatever worries she may have about the people running SU.

Noel will be making a mistake to pick G'town.

The fact is, Syracuse is a Championship contender for the entirety of his college career, & Georgetown will not be as good as us, with or without Noel on their team. Why would he jeopardize his notoriety by going to Georgetown?

They better take their APR explanation with them so he doesn't think there is any chance we are missing the tournament next season. There certainly has been a lot of discussion of APR and our potential problems with it, who knows what he is being told and/or how he is interpreting what he is hearing.

I would rather he go to Kentucky than Georgetown.
