Howard Cosell would have turned 100 today.

If you are not of a certain age you might not realize that basically he was voted as the most popular sportscaster and least popular every year. I wonder what he would have thought about social media today.

I really enjoyed him. He was a big part of my childhood, and like Albom said, every teenage kid could do a Cosell impersonation. He made MNF an event, expanding its reach to housewives and girlfriends of the guys who typically watched football. His calls of the Ali fights were legendary. I read his autobiography as a kid. Can't really remember any specific anecdotes from it, like you could with George Plimpton's sports books, fir instance. But like Ali, Cosell was also "The Greatest". R.I.P. Howard.
