I just got a weird message

After making a post, a little box popped up and said something along the lines of "Your post is awaiting moderation and is not visible to other posters."

Any idea what made that happen? Can't say I've ever seen that before.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Sometimes I get flipped to a different page asking me if I was sure I wanted to 'Like' a post, but I've never seen this one.

I've gotten that a couple times, too. Fills me with all kinds of self-doubt.

We've had a problem with people registering for the sole purpose of selling Viagra, or pimping their own commercial site. As a result, I was setting up a way to require all new users to have their first few posts moderated (need moderator approval).

I screwed it up the first few tries. A little known fact is I really don't know what I am doing, but I keep trying until I finally get it right. In this case, it took about an hour. Sorry.
