Grumpy hot take: pregame speeches are overrated. Ball players go out and do what they do no
matter what - nobody’s “inspirational” words really matter. That’s for the movies. Coach reiterates to them what the game plan and focus’s are, and then go get on with it.

Melo’s Virginia speech was great, but that was for the cameras and recruiting and to give the players a cool moment - but had zero effect on the game or how they played.
