Love how some people were chirping about his exaggerated goal celebrations...I really don't think that people understand or respect the dedication and commitment that Joey has put into his game. If you put in the amount of hoursssss that Joey has into his craft and it finally paid off, you would be just as excited.

Great stat to throw around but it is very misleading. Evans got little playing time and was not a starter for most of his first 2 seasons. Evans was a 2nd line middie playing mainly defense in his freshman season. He had his first start as a middie in April of his sophomore year and was playing largely a defensive role. He was a starter at midfield in his junior year and scored 27 goals etc.

Spallina has been given the featured attack role, man-up etc. from day 1. What I can't give an opinion on is whether the coaches didn't give Evans enough opportunities, Evans wasn't talented enough or the coaches didn't utilize him properly or all of the above. Desko typically played juniors and seniors over freshmen. Somebody who was an insider at the time can provide better insight.
