Jordan Chatman to transfer from BYU basketball

This news broke last night. Not often you see a grad transfer with three years of eligibility. Bench player, but did get minutes at BYU. Pretty long, 34% from three.

Would be more interested if he only had one year remaining. I know we need a lot of guys for 2017... but we can do better.

Agreed, not the ideal profile. But, he also wouldn't scare anybody off.

As an emergency fourth guard to round out our backcourt rotation? Can we really do better vis a vis adding somebody to play in 2016 at this stage, in mid-June?

We could be facing a situation where we enter next season with only 3-4 scholarship players returning. No exaggeration. A kid like Chatman could be a useful bench guy his entire career, and wouldn't "scare" any recruits away. Plus, he's a shooter.

Plus, he'd have to be an APR bonus I would think if he graduated so early. I doubt there's an academic risk here.
