LAX Action for April 25-27

I know it would be better for the Orange if Duke won, but I'm having issues trying to root for them. It might be better if the field opened up and swallowed both teams.

As much as Thursday sucked ..today was a level setting day. With PSU barely squeaking by Rutgers, Duke getting dropped again, Maryland getting exposed by Hopkins and UVA in OT against a UNC team that we cleanly beat on the first go...I’m feeling better about things.

Yes, many of these moments are skewed by teams in desperation/with nothing to gain or lose ..but in my view it says three things -

1) late season losses by heavy favorites says this is clearly an implication of Parity / new world

2) the field is wide open

3) we’ve got a shot

RPI including the UVa-UNC game. We really need Army to hang in there in the top 20. Wish Rutgers could have pulled off the upset today for an additional top 20 win.

Here is there the RPI stands after yesterday's action (no games today). With an RPI of 11 and the #4 SOS, Hop is 1 win away from the discussion of last team in.

Seeding will be extremely interesting this year...

feels like the top 5 are pretty locked in

loyola 1-2/ 4-0 vs top 10/20
maryland 1-2/4-1
ND 3-3/1-1
towson 1-2/2-1
Su 1-2/4-1
cornell 2-4/1-0

Jh 1-5/3-1
OSU 1-1/3-1

Cornell/ND played the most top 10 teams.

JH really almost have no big wins but 10 top 20 games

cornell played almost their entire top 20 schedule on the road

towson one top 20 was Loyola

Loyola lives by the first game win over Virginia and

Su did well against the 2nd 10

ND was out but now if they beat Virg they end up with 4 top 10 wins could go to 4-5-6 seed.
Cornell on the bubble but if they beat penn/yale they end up with 4 top 10 wins

virginia seems locked but 2-2/4-1 but they look alot like SU too if they lose to ND.
Yale 1-1/3-1 not really a strong schedule
Penn 1-3/3-0 not really a strong schedule

some head to heads are gonna matter

but If Towson wins their tourney they tech won’t be a bubble team and leaves door open for 1 of other 2, yes I am smart

Syracuse -2.5
Boston U. -2.5
UMASS -2.5
Cornell -2.5

4-0 last week, 28-15 overall
0-4 for the week, 28-19 overall. The Orange lose(really hurts), UMASS and Cornell failed to cover.
