I thought it was a compliment and very fair. I've thought for years he's right around 12-15. For comparison, SI has him at 24.

It's more than fair, IMO. I'm sure the posters who say I'm a Melo hater will chime in but I think it is fair. He generally didn't look very good in Brazil. He had that one game he went nuts from 3 and they were going in. These days it seems like he camps out from 3 too much, doesn't move that well, and gets rejected around the rim too much. It will be interesting to see what he does with better talent this year.

It's a mentality thing. As much as people like to think he's just a selfish player who doesn't like to work hard (like the 'fat' references and stuff), he's never been that at any point in his career. I'm not telling anybody here anything new; he's always had a competitive drive that's rivaled by very very few. He sees himself as one of the elite players in that game and that's how he should see himself. Anything outside of the top 5 should be considered a slight, in his eyes.

All of this said, 15 is fair enough. 24th is BS, but 15 isn't disrespectful.
