SYRACUSE, N.Y. –
Syracuse University head men's soccer coach Ian McIntyre announced the addition of two more players to the program on Monday, Feb. 23. Adnan Bakalovic is the fifth member of the TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 100 to join this year's incoming class. The Orange also added Norwegian midfielder Andreas Jenssen.

The duo bolsters an Orange recruiting class that is already ranked No. 8 nationally by College Soccer News and No. 9 by TopDrawerSoccer.com.

Adnan Bakalovic
Position: Forward
Hometown: Utica, N.Y.
High School: Thomas R. Proctor
Club Team: Revolution Empire Academy

Bakalovic is a proven goal scorer with the Revolution Empire Academy of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA). He was named to the 2014 USSDA U-18 Winter Showcase Best XI. He is the No. 91 overall prospect, according to TopDrawerSoccer.com, and the No. 2 player in the state of New York.

"Adnan is a dynamic player who possesses an excellent change of pace," McIntyre said. "He is technically very strong and has excellent movement in the final third. It is always our goal to try and keep the most exciting local players at home and I look forward to watching Adnan's progress here on campus."

Andreas Jenssen
Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Lommendalen, Norway
High School: Toppidrettsgymnas (NTG)
Club Team: Stabaek Academy

Jenssen captained the U-19 Stabaek Academy team to a 2014 championship and to the quarterfinals of the Norwegian FA Youth Cup. He has played with the Stabaek reserve team and has also competed in the prestigious Viareggio Cup in Italy.

"Andreas is a skillful, versatile midfield player who has developed within the same Stabaek system as Emil Ekblom. He has been a team leader at every Stabaek age group and he will immediately add personality and soccer intelligence to our team."

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior college superstar Ben Polk is the latest addition to the Syracuse men's soccer program, Orange head coach Ian McIntyre announced on Friday, Feb. 27. Polk led the nation last season with 33 goals for nearby Herkimer County Community College (HCCC) and was named the NJCAA Region III Player of the Year.

Polk's addition raises the number of players in Syracuse's incoming class to 12. It's a group that is ranked No. 8 nationally by College Soccer News and No. 9 by TopDrawerSoccer.com.

"Ben has been a prolific goal-scorer and he has the ability to stretch the opposition's defense with his pace and athleticism," McIntyre said. "He is a dynamic player who we feel can make a quick transition to the demands of soccer in the ACC."

Polk scored eight game-winning goals and had four hat tricks in 2014 to lead the Generals to an 18-1-1 record and an appearance in the NJCAA semifinals. In all, he totaled an eye-popping 71 points on 33 goals and five assists last season.

Polk follows in the footsteps of former Orange star Ted Cribley and rising senior Korab Syla as players who started their collegiate careers at HCCC before making the jump to Syracuse.
