Justin Fuente.

It's also somewhat similar to Craig Bohl at Wyoming. My mom went to school there so I follow their program also. Similar to Dino, their fans were really excited with hiring Bohl - and who wouldn't be with the success he had at North Dakota State. He took over a 5-7 team and the first two seasons out of the gate, he went 4-8 and 2-10 and the fans were getting a little restless. All of the sudden Josh Allen comes in and stays healthy (He got hurt in the 2-10 year) and they have back to back winning seasons.

Now obviously the ACC is much more difficult than the MWC, but Wyoming is not exactly the easiest school in the country to win at either.

The 4-8 is frustrating but more than just being in a tough division, we’re in a division where every coach is good and established. The ACC is by far the best conference when it comes to coaches. Every coach is good and has had success. I’ve always felt we were on a 4-5 year rebuild and as long as we show some progress next year, i’m confident we’re on schedule.

I got to know Craig. Great coach and super person.

I like where you’re going with this as it’s a good reference point due to the coaching tree, systems, etc.. Year 3 is where things started to click with Art Briles at Baylor but year 6 is when the big winning seasons came in repeatedly. We absolutely need coaching consistency going forward.

Baylor Bears (Big 12 Conference) (2008–2015)
2008 Baylor 4–8 2–6 T–5th (South)
2009 Baylor 4–8 1–7 6th (South)
2010 Baylor 7–6 4–4 4th (South) L Texas
2011 Baylor 10–3 6–3 T–3rd W Alamo 12 13
2012 Baylor 8–5 4–5 T–5th W Holiday
2013 Baylor 11–2 8–1 1st L Fiesta† 13 13
2014 Baylor 11–2 8–1 1st L Cotton† 8 7
2015 Baylor 10–3 6–3 4th W Russell Athletic 13 13
Baylor: 65–37 39–30

Baylor is such a comparable program except they were awful for the better part of 100 years and we've only been awful for the better part of 17 years. They're in a good recruiting area, but even with that recruiting area they were still horrible forever.

I honestly will be surprised if we get 6 wins next year. I think year 4 is where it finally clicks.

You are right that it might be year 4 for Babers. The ACC Atlantic is crazy too. Great coaches everywhere. Coach Mac started to win some in year 3 with arguably an easier schedule than we have now. Bottom line is that this will take some time and coaching consistency.
