I know it's been highly speculative but has anyone with real connections made it official yet. I've never even heard of that website.

I have no idea if they're correct, but you've never heard of the UPI, United Press International? Its similar to the AP.

Back in the day, the AP and the UPI used to both publish Top 20 CBB and CFB polls. That's where I first heard about them (when I was a kid following sports).

Of course I've heard of UPI, but not in the last 40 years. Didn't know they were still a thing. Here is what Paul Dottino has to say (and he is a very reliable source). And he is not confirming the Shurmur hire.

here's the latest to hit the wall... and with the reports of a dwindling pool, perhaps it is correct...anyway, giants do things by the book, so don't expect to see any confirmation soon

Here's a little history. The UPI football poll ran from 1950-1990 and then the USA Today Coaches Poll took over. CFN ran some numbers and Syracuse is ranked 31st all time. Not bad considering how many down years the football program has had.

Blue Smoke started rising from 1925 Giants Drive yesterday afternoon.

Word was the coach was committed, but he was still coaching so there could be no real announcement.

Everyone assumes it was McDaniels because they might've gotten word to him after the patsy win, but likely couldn't have gotten to Schurmer.

Let's put it this way, if it's not schurmer...it's Bill.

Again, both fit...but its Schurmer and not McDaniels.

I'm cautiously optimistic with Shurmur and Del Rio. Is what it is.

I guess ownership wasn't joking about wanting guys with HC experience.

Get Darnold. Fix the OL. Make sure OBJ is healthy. Let's go. Eli has one more run in him.

There’s some sad, funny, truth there.

No doubt the Giants brought a tailor to Alabama with them.

They either told Shurmur being the suit you’re wearing and we’ll make sure it fits or they told him they’re sizing him up and will have a new one ready for him on friday.
