time we get to the final four,a major team is waiting for us there.
1975 Kentucky
1987 Providence (okay) and North carolina
1996 Miss St (okay) and then Kentucky
2003 Texas and Kansas
2013 Michigan
2016 North Carolina

When do we get Florida Atlantic ? Or Ga Tech? Or anyone like that? And the funny thing is, when we do
get a break earlier in the tournament, our own fans won't let us forget it.

This is such a great point.

FAU is legit and 2004 Georgia Tech had four guys go on to play in the NBA FWIW

Outside of Jack who was mostly a journeyman I don't believe the other 3 saw much floortime.

That GT team was 9-7 in the ACC that year too.

ACC was legit that year.

They were a three so they must’ve been kind of good #shrug

Oh I'm not saying they sucked. They also were far from a top 5 team all the same to the effect of what Dasher is saying.

I agree with this ^^^.
One more, Providence (6) beat Georgetown (1) in the 1987 E8 if memory serves.

One upset short of matching up with the Hoyas in the F4.

I was 10 in 1996 and my brother was 7. At halftime of the championship game we went out to shoot hoops in the driveway. When my mom called us back in I said to my brother as I took a shot from about as far away as I could, “If this goes in they’re going to come back…” *clank* After about 10 more tries saying the same thing and 10 more clanks I finally hit one and went into the house fully expecting the comeback to happen.

If you just made it the first time JB would have another title…….

You don’t make it to the final with out being good, IMO. Regardless of what people think of your name or conference.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about. 1987 Indiana and 1996 UK lose to 2011 Butler and 2014 UK every single time!
The 1996 Kentucky team may be the best college BB team I have ever seen.

The 1987 UNLV team that lost to IU in the semi-finals was an excellent team.

This is such a great point.
Well, in 1996 we were one of the “what are they doing here” teams.
I tend to think that after 4 games, the teams left are all pretty good.

In 96 we were the same seed UConn is now.

I wish we were able to take advantage of those weak 04, 11 and 14 fields.
