He can do much better than UCONN in that shitty conference. Starting to see what a POS that job actually is

True that.

No football heritage, very few home grown recruits, a conference with no star power at this point and minimal fan interest.

The coaching carousel hasn't even started yet, there will be better jobs opening here shortly, hell he could be the next Michigan ST coach at this point or Vanderbilit, who knows..

Who is Narduzzi?

Come on bees, what wrong with you or a baseball guy, he's the former 2nd basemen for the Minnesota Twins... Either that or the MSU DC

!

Narduzzi had interviewed for the job as Paul Pasqualoni‘s permanent replacement earlier in the week, and was considered by some to be the front-runner for the job. FootballScoop tweeted that “Manuel’s offer to Narduzzi was ‘aggressive’ for the [head coach] but not as robust for [assistants] as was hoped for.”

Too bad for UConn; I haven't spent any time looking at this but from a distance anyway, he looked like an ideal candidate. He is from Connecticut, had never been a HC and consequently would not be ridiculously expensive, yet was eminently qualified to be a HC (he has a great resume).

At least their AD is interviewing the right people. Really surprised that money was a problem here. I thought UConn was 100% committed to major college football. They apparently did not learn anything from the Coach P disaster.

Funny you say Michigan State... I had Dantonio pegged for a bigger job too. Maybe not Texas if Saban declines, but something not too far off from that...

There are rumors that Narduzzi may be in for a big payday as Saban's DC at Texas.

My feelings about UConn aside, Narduzzi can do a lot better than UConn, but there are no BCS conference HC jobs available anymore.

If he waits a year, HC jobs might be open at Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, K-State, Maryland and Rutgers. No need to jump now.

when rutgirls gets plowed by N.D. things will change in a hurry. I can a few schools dumping coaches in the near future

I thought UConn already decided to drop down to the FCS division. No?

fans right now

Tough to pay a HC $1 million + when that is about what your whole TV contract is for the year.

Narduzzi won the assistant coach of the year award, far better programs than UConn will be looking at him. Silly for him to even consider it.

If they can't get a quality HC they are really totally screwed. Their recruiting class is 99th and maybe dropping. Randy was smart to get out while the getting was good.

It was a warm up for better jobs. Kind of like interviewing at McDonald's before you interview for the CEO job.
