Let me first say that I want to give a big shout out to our staff for putting in a lot of work last month. JB was probably on the road more than he has been over the last 3-4 years, which was exciting to see.

Here goes my odds for 2013. Joseph 80%, Whitehead 50%, Newton 30%. Bookmark August 31st, that's when the SU Elite Camp takes place and we know the staff will go all out to line up the best talent they can to come through.

UNC and Pitt should be ashamed of themselves with this ridiculous offering spree that they have been on the last few days. Credit our staff for identifying talent early and putting offers out there and not being late and desperate to the game like some of these fools.

Lets have some fun......

First, thanks for doing this Francis. Love your input (along with some of the other regulars on this board).

Thanks for posting your odds, two question to start:

[ ] Is there anyone else for 2014 that can sneak in besides the three you mentioned?
[ ] Can you do the same prognostication for the 2015 class?

Amen. I don't know enough to lay odds, but my guess for Newton is Miami. If KJ is indeed Orange, and we get IW on top of that, we may have a top 5/10 recruiting class with just 3 kids -- those two and CM. Having the Creator, backed up by KJ, with IW on the wing, backed up by MG/Patterson/TC next year, would be almost as silly as having CJ/Roberson, Rak/Grant and Coleman/Keita on our front line this year.

Love hearing JB out working hard on the trail.

With all the talk coming up again about possibly moving the floor to the center of the dome for the Duke game, assuming we get the big loud crowd, it's hyped up huge by ESPN on game day, and we get a big win, how big of a recruiting tool could that be? I know it's tough to say but if we have recruits in for visits during the game in your experience can that be a huge draw or is it somewhat overestimated how big an impact it could really have?

Second question, what do you know about our interest in Prince Ali? Rivalsss has him with an offer from us and he looks like the prototype of big strong crazy athletic guards that the staff has loved to recruit lately. My only worry is he sounds pretty raw.

1)Another big man like Goodluck and Chukwu could be a option.
2.Malachi, Bryant, D. Jones, and Diagne looks favorable at the moment. Jones is going to be tough with UK involve and no disrespect to GMac, but I personally wish Hop or Red was the lead man for this. It's a good test for GMac though, to see if he can pull in a big fish.

I think Miami, Minnesota, and possibly UCLA/Oregon is where Newton will end up. Personally I'm kind of surprise that we made his final list because the staff hardly watched him last month.

What do you think our 2-deep is come the 2014-2015 season if you had to bet money?

He's feeling the Cuse, but may not make it here because there's too much backcourt sugar already on its way. Speaking of sugar, here's some ankle-breaking moves and a wicked cross-over:

The impact will be huge. Last season was light on home game visits but there is no excuse for that this year with the big time teams that we're playing at home. The 15/16 classes look really strong and it'll be important to get enough visitors as we can to give these kids a taste of what they'll experience, especially now being in the ACC and coming off a recent final four.

Don't know too much about Ali at the moment, but I do know that JB saw him against Joseph's team last week and must have been impress if an offer has been made.

You talking 2-deep as in guards? Sorry just wanted to understand what you meant before answering.

I guess a better ask is what our rotation looks like for 2014-2015 in your best guess.

Is UNC really a factor with Bryant? Is he basically a done deal?
Not a done deal but I get the impression that he's recruiting UNC more than they're recruiting him. UNC is acting like they just started scouting last week with all of the offers that they've been spreading out this week. BERNIEFEVERCUSE is probably next on the list for an offer from them.

How has GMac been regarding his recruiting chops? It seems he must be getting better if they stuck him on D Jones, right?

Love GMac, but it doesn't seem like his personality necessarily matched my idea of an elite-level recruiter, but he must be doing something right.

PG-Ennis, Joseph
SG-Mike G, Buss, Cooney
SF-McCullough, BJ
PF-Roberson, Rak
C-Rak, DC2, Chino

If Grant comes back then he'll start at the 3 and McCullough/Roberson will battle it out at the 4. If we get Whitehead then he starts at the 2 or plays the Dion 6th man specialist role.

OK thanks I love this Francis.

If we land Joseph which looks likely and IW and Newton go elswhere what are the odds we land Goodluck? It seems like we could get him if we really wanted but with what we have he is not a priorety.

Is Newton on the waite? Has he been told Joseph is the priorety?

Does anyone know what IW is going to do?

GMac is responsible for Buss Patterson and as mentioned the lead man for D. Jones. He's only in his 2nd year of recruiting on the staff so it's kind of hard to judge his recruiting, but I would expect him to get better and build more connections as time goes along.

I know it's relatively a ways down the line but you mentioned 2016 has a ton of talent. You were right on with your predictions awhile back for a lot of the 2015 targets, what are some names to watch for 2016?

Indiana and Duke seems to be the frontrunners for Goodluck. I think if we made him a priority that we would have a good shot, but with the uncertainty of how long Rak and DC2 will be around it seems like he'll be a tough get.

I doubt Newton would have put us on his final list if he was told that he was a backup plan for Joseph. The biggest thing imo to lookout for with the trio of guards is the visit dates. Whoever is lined up to visit asap is the one who mutually wants to get something done with SU. All of these kids know that they can't wait around forever and have to make a move first if they want to come to SU.

The only person that knows what IW is going to do is IW. Very unpredictable kid and recruitment.

That is ridiculously loaded!
Top to bottom, every position and we're recruiting some gamers this year.
Going to be an amazing ride.

Battle, Heron, Alkins, Yakwe, Murrray, Miller are some of the notables early on.

Also I forgot to mention in the beginning to lookout for lots of talent in future coming out of Philly and the New England area. Both places are spots where Hop has a stronghold in and obviously we know Red will have NY, NJ, and the DMV on lock.
